Also I noticed George Wendt died recently. He was known as Norm of course, on the popular US sitcom, Cheers.
She was brilliant - MASH was fantastic. RiP Loved Norm too. Loved Friday night as a kid - went to my grandads to stay - would watch Cheers and he'd come back with chips and peas from the chippy on Carlton Road - affectionately known as Scabby Don's Saturday morning was a full English with the best sausages ever from Birkenshaw butchers. Happy days
Yeah I also associate Friday's with the fish n chip shop, that was definitely an 80s thing. And it also brings back happy tv and music and sporting memories.
I loved the way Charles Winchester pronounced her name - Margaret (Houlihan) - when they were on friendly terms. To everyone else she was Major, the best Head Nurse in Korea. MASH was the best comedy of its time and I really ought to watch them all again.
They're often shown on Freeview, the only snag is that it's the US version with canned laughter which totally ruins it.
