But there's a difference between experience and age. This squad has plenty of experience.

I think Bland will feature alot flavell looked abit far off a regular starter maybe a loan out.

Our defence had plenty of experience Roberts, mdg and earl had played a massive amount of league one and championship games we still shipped goals for fun infact we conceded 2nd most in the division?

Bradley went to Wycombe in Jan wonder why they decided not to go for him? Would he add pace alongside Roberts?

An extra bit of experience and quality with someone like Bradley certainly won't hurt though

I played football with him in grassroots and representative levels. He’s a ****** but someone we need at the club right now. A winner and a very good footballer.

Not for me, I've said it countless times, if we don't add pace to the back line playing a high press, high line we'll get mullered, teams will just go long and in behind us to counter the press, if we've got old carthorses then we can't effectively play that way and end up with a half hearted attempt at it.

I don't think that we need to bring in many. My priorities would be: 1) Commanding central defender who can organise the whole back line - best choice for me would be Paudie O'Connor; 2) a target man striker if we are going to play a front three - Jatta from Notts County has a lot of admirers, but mostly not above League One level; 3) an experienced keeper, but only if either Smith, or Flavell go out on loan, otherwise we will run with what we already have. The most important factors are: 1) Hold on to Keillor-Dunn and Humphrys; 2) Get Shepherd straight in at left centre back. If we could land O'Connor, who will be on a free, we might only need to fork out for a target man striker. I think then that the squad would look smaller, but fit for purpose. Too many players and it suppresses the young ones coming through, like Yoganathan and Bland.

Pace is at the back is critical that's all I'm saying I'm not saying we need to sign a full team but without pace we can't play a high line, we'll just get turned in behind time and time again.
If you start playing with a back 4 sitting high and you've got Roberts and someone like Bradley as your 2 your bang in trouble with the system, so all that happens is you sit deeper and the press drops off and you end with something not resembling high press attacking football

I said in another thread that I think we need 6 or 7 better than what we have got. Key to that is an experienced goalkeeper, a centre back with pace, a left back, a right back, at least one winger and a striker.

Yep get that and agree with, if playing high press you need pace at the back for the high defensive line. Which we don't have.. But I still wouldn't be surprised at Bradley coming in with Conor saying he's looking for leaders all over the field. Which in this league is has vital as anything if you want to do well.

O'Connor is being linked with Derby and Stoke. I'd be surprised if he doesn't go to a Championship team.

Back 4 might as well have started the game facing the goalkeeper so at least they had a head-start when the inevitable running back towards the keeper began.
That was the great mystery of the end of last season and a big question mark over CH's leadership, that we continued to adopt a playing style not suited to our players.

Tbh.. I can't see many coming in. Due to the seemingly lack of interest in our better players. Only seen DKD linked with QPR, Oxford and another team who's name escapes me. And Bratfud saying they'd like Shepard back,, that's it.
There doesn't seem much interest in the 'divsions best midfield'.. strangely.
Plus we already have 5 contracted players returning from loans..
So until we can manage to get one or two out the door. I wouldn't be expecting too much on the incoming front.. Am sure Jed Steer in nailed on for a player coach.. but really without departures then we seem a bit over maned already.

A lad from Lincoln, out of contract I think. Us and a few other clubs were linked with

Ed.. Just wiki him. 6"3.. 28 next month so at his age he'll be looking for the best financial deal around..as much as he can get. So wouldn't be expecting him to turn up here.

Also think we need more pace in the holding midfield and full back roles. Connell isn’t the quickest and that makes things worse.

Des O'Connor, 94 year old midfield showboater, formed a successful partnership with Mel Sykes.

Unfortunately what Conor wants will most likely be opposite to what he gets

Don't forget we are talking Barnsley here.lol
