Well done Simon Yates for winning it on the penultimate stage. Not in the news much, but well done lad.

Absolutely brilliant. I was gripped to it yesterday.

He said all along that he was more suited to the longer climbs rather than the shorter more explosive ones that suited Del Toro & Carapaz but I was beginning to doubt him.

It’s probably a hangover from the Team Sky / Tour De France dominance that it’s not a big, newsworthy event. If he’d won it 20 years ago he would have been up for sports personality of the year & featured everywhere. The press used to get giddy at Boardman winning a prologue because we won barely anything at the top level of cycling back then.

It was amazing to watch on Saturday afternoon. Brilliant teamwork and performance to banish the memories from 2018, when Froome was out of this world and destroyed everyone on the same climb when Yates had looked set to win at his first attempt

Barely in the news now that even the highlights show has gone from terrestrial TV.

    Quest was showing highlights.
There will also be Giro highlights on free-to-air channel Quest in the UK during the race, broadcast nightly from 7-8pm.
Not exactly channel 4 but freely available.

Great performance from Yates and his ride on Saturday was a pure joy to watch.

Sport at its best with him banishing the ghosts of 2018.
