I’d give him a go in the team.

I'd say exactly the opposite lol, I find RU awfully one dimensional, and thus boring!.

That's a fairly blinkered look at it...RL has moved away from what it used to be ( mainly)since Sky got involved...it looks faster because there are four fewer players on the field, so a lot more space...More tries....they've engineered it over the years in the childish belief that more scoring is a better match, given every advantage to the attacking side and far too many of the tries come from the robotic and seemingly continuous little kicks in the air to the corner for a who can catch it lottery. Massive scores do not make better games other than perhaps for Americans.
They've done away with the scrum that had three real specialists in there, two squat fat powerhouse heavyweights, and a smaller more mobile hooker and replaced them with three loose forwards...it's purely a large sprinter's game now that's lost it's nuances and worst of all it's artistry. There's little room now for a Hepworth, Hardisty, Topliss, Millward, Gill, Eckersley, Murphy, Davies, Schofield Watkins...Real top notch artists. Little Rob Burrow was probably the last of that ilk you'll see.
The worst thing about 'Super League' is that it has left us unable to compete, not only with Australia, but lesser RL nations like New Zealand and Samoa...it's just fortunate there are so few serious teams in World RL, otherwise the reality would be even more humiliating.
Those athletic skilful blokes you think you are watching are often second raters in international terms...the proud northern game it used to be has been sold out, starting from the day the self interested Wigan bookie Maurice Lindsay got his hands on the game with Sky's connivance.

I'm not an absolute die hard in terms of following RL but my main gripe with the sport is it's governance.

How the situation at Salford is an absolute mess not just with their apparent takeover but the clubs management as whole financially having drained the sports central funding.

The remaining are seemingly SL clubs backed Into a corner in forcibly supporting Salford financially to keep them afloat till end of the season to avoid financial penalties from Sky according to a number of RL journos.

Yeah and how many times does Lindsay's name come up.
He may have meant well for the game of RL, to begin with, err maybe.
But I also always thought he was a selfish and greedy individual, who had far too much influence on the game.

only Joking even as a Fev fan I would y want to see them go under or owt. Does seem strange they were given an A licence. But nowts surprising in rugby league. Games run by idiots.

I take my lad & lass on a Sunday morning for their under 6 and minis. Both love it. Incredible what they've done up there in 6 years - hundreds of kids every week playing a sport that gets no coverage locally. Fast overtaking Barnsley RUFC.

There's no doubt that Hull Kingston are a vastly improved team these days, and they deserve to be where they are.
But, their fans over the last few seasons do make me laugh. The way they go on, you'd think they have been winning trophies every single season!!. :D

Participation - I'm down at Shaw Lane pretty regularly and I very rarely see any Rugby. I tried to look to get my kids down, couldn't see any teams.

It's based on nothing other than my hunch, but I'd be surprised if there are c100 young kids playing RU every week at Shaw Lane like there are at Dodworth.
