Anyone surprised?.......... https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/reform-kent-county-council-393776/
Farage was too busy highlighting the over 1k males who crossed the channell in one day(Saturday) over the weekend. And having a pop at starmer for failing to get to grips with it.
Pity that no one has pointed out to him that his campaigning for Brexit and taking back control of our borders was a load of $hit. Prior to 2018, when the UK was part of the EU's returns arrangement, no small boat arrivals were recorded. The UK's departure from the EU and the subsequent lack of a new returns arrangement, made it more difficult to return migrants who crossed the Channel, leading to a rise in small boat crossings. Yet another Brexit benefit that the turkeys voted for. I didn’t see that on the side of the bus, just populist rubbish
Interview with the Reform UK 2025 PLC Chairman, Zia Yusuf, on Sky News where he says their policy is to make £100Bn cuts to public services. Anyone supporting them, just think about that and look at the results of the same sort of cuts made by Cameron and his successors. Is that really what you want?
Therein lies the problem with Farage. He literally has no personality or plan beyond banging on about immigration.
The thing is it wasn't an exit poll of Barnsley voters...they'd just extrapolated the figure from polls elsewhere and multiplied it by a few uneducated guesses.
Ok. What about the Kent councillors the article is actually about though? Why aren’t they doing their job?
Remember this, on Channel 4 news the day we left the EU? I’d love to know what the first bloke reckons now, nearly a decade later. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19XP5fwucR/?mibextid=wwXIfr
I'm a little surprised there's been no comment from the people who state they don't worship at Farages altar following his car crash policy announcements last week. Slashing annual taxes to the tune of £80-100bn and suggesting those will be paid for by "Efficiency savings" and cutting back on green investment. Although the green investment comes largely from the private sector, so thats not true. Then the great fascism clarion call of more white babies please. The IFS considered his claims not serious and full of gaping holes, as always. Yet not a murmur from those who say they don't support him, don't/won't vote for him, but only criticise Starmer. Just what do they hope to hide?
They are not doing their job because they haven't got a brain between them. The mayor, an ex-Tory, listening to her talk, there is nothing between the earholes. Just imagine a gang of Lee "trigger" or "30p" Anderson's running a council, and that is what you have in Kent.
So is mine. As he needs hoisting into his wheelchair at his care home I wouldn't call him a threat...
i’m convinced they don’t care, you could cut off a leg and they’d be ok if Nigel told them to use the other one.
And who authorized the tender process to allow an external group to have access to the council data in order to audit it. If it wasn't open to the public, why not? I've currently got a bit of spare time and would have underbid anyone for the contract out of spite (I'd have done it for expenses and lols). And why has the audit committee been suspended while they decided who is going to lead it. Although, granting access to the systems without the appropriate level of authorization would be a breach of the computer misuse act and could see some people going to prison. And dodgy contracts going to their friends would probably see several cases of offences under the Bribery Act and/or misconduct in public office - which carries a maximum life sentence.
Easy. Farage is a lover of the American Style health insurance system. That's it all in one swoop and then some. The one thing I always raise with folk who support farage. Good luck and don't get ill if he gets in. Me on the other hand, may as well sign my death warrant if that ever comes in.
On a positive note, largely due to what Starmer's government have been doing since the election last year, the spend on agency staff in the NHS has fallen by £1Bn whilst simultaneously reducing waiting lists for treatment. Not seen this reported on any major news outlet except The Guardian. I had to go to the Commons Library to get the waiting list figures (down by 7.4m in the last year).
