I’ve just had the misfortune to watch 5 minutes of “baller league” on sky it appears to be a 6 a side tournament played by out of contract non league players… hyped up to the nth degree by a sky commentator who appears to be witnessing a live reveal of a stigmata he’s that excited My whelm needless to say was firmly under.
Funnily enough, i saw this for the first time last night as well. What i don't really understand is who is the target market, as my 13 year old lad also joined in with the general 'who on Earth are this set of bellends' comments which were reverberating round the living room. I can't believe Ian Wright, Lineker and Shearer, a bunch of 50 and 60 odd year old men, have got involved with it.
I watched it for the first time about 3 or 4 weeks back. Thinking it would be akin to the Sky Masters Football. It's anything but, and was just a bunch of YouTube wannabes as far as I can tell. Really not something I can muster up energy to repeat watching put it that way.
I found it excruciatingly embarrassing that what looked like a fair ground kick about was hyped so seriously. Seems like ‘football’ has adopted the invented celebrity model too.
