Chansiri saying in a statement today it's not his fault and any consortium bidders aren't offering enough. In summary they're screwed
Not at all, what gets me is their fans are now continually criticising Chansiri for not putting the money in. But hang on, maybe he's run out of money, because for the 8 or so years he's been there they have constantly overspent, not necessarily on transfer fees, but on wages. Barry Bannan 25k plus per week, Winnall around 18k per week, Forestieri 35-40k per week and there are many others like that. It's not sustainable, their ground is a ******* dump and training facilities an absolute disgrace. In addition, hasn't the ground been separated from the footballing entity? Therefore who is going to want to buy the club? Throw in the mix that Chansiri is asking for a massiively inflated price to sell the club then I think they could be ******.
I head he was looking for £140m to sell the club and he won't budge on that figure. Some in the know have said Chansiri is playing silly buggers and the club isn't worth even half of that amount. If he continues to not pay the bills then surely there will come a point where administration is the only option.
Are they massively inflated. I thought they also got a taxi firm and a power drinks org in the mix too, as well as a state of the art stadium.
It made me laugh. Basically, I admit I have f**ked it up, but I want to make sure it's not owned by anyone who would F*** it up!
Neerav ought to buy the club and then use it as a feeder club for Barnsley. That would really make Owls fans happy.
No ******* surprise they didn't pay. Why would you fork over millions without a deal being agreed? Especially if you know your "deposit" is going to be immediately burned on liabilities the club has failed to meet?
Clearly this will be an unpopular opinion but… I feel sorry for their fans because, regardless of the attitude of some of them they’re still just football fans like the rest of us. All what’s going on is dreadful and who’s to say we won’t be in the same boat in 5 years time? We’re hardly a beacon of sound financial management. Yes Wembley p**ed me off. Yeah, I’ve got fed up of going to Hillsborough and seeing us lose, often when playing better. I agree a lot of their fans have a massive superiority complex and the club have made some very shady financial decision. But would I want them to go bust? Absolutely not. Not because of any love for them but purely because I’d much rather play Wednesday and the other local teams than the likes of Millwall, Stevenage, etc.
I too have no animosity towards Wednesday fans. I can only put that down to not living in the area my entire adult life so not having to endure them at work the way others do. Despite their massive fanbase I have never encountered anyone down here who would even know who Wednesday are. Leeds fans everywhere mind you.
