I wouldn't say Farrugia is a left back. Before signing for us he generally played as a winger I believe.

Re wages. How do we know if we are paying his full salary. Plymouth could well be trying to recoup some rather than all. To help finance other deals.
Also he may not have settled down there. We've had our share of those.
    Welcome young man.

We aren't going to bring in finished articles on loan I'm afraid. We complain last year that we've fetched a highly rated youngster in on loan from Chelsea and now we complain we're fetching in an experienced player from our league.

With our current financial predicament, our inept leaders above Hourihane and the fact we are weighed down heavily by recruiting specifically for one way of playing all means we are going to be the runt at the dinner table fighting for scraps.

We’ll just have to do better with him than his previous clubs have done. Got to wonder why it’s a loan though? Do Plymouth want him back?

This is our level, it’s just a “meh” signing, but we are a “meh” club in a “meh” league, & at present every thing about us is just “meh”.

Any player with any quality who is likely to improve us will have other clubs interested, & we know all too well how that turns out.

Suspect we aren’t paying all his wages. I think he’s out of contract at the end of the season so gives us a full year to work with him to see if we want to sign him
    Permanently

I’m not a massive fan of this but if he came direct from Man City 4 years ago there’d be a lot less bairning

He is originally from Salford and ex Man City. So, maybe after he gets married this weekend, he wants to move back north.
He settles down and becomes a reds legend at full back, being sold in 2 years for 6 million. Who knows..
    Give the fella a chance.
In other news, I think i saw Middlesbrough had sold a forward today for £5 million plus. They were allegedly linked with DKD, so maybe they might come in spending some of their cash?

I can’t keep up. Supporters want signings, we make two, no we don’t want those ones. We don’t like loans.

We just need to slow down a bit. If these two are the only deals we do, whinge away, however, if money is being saved and used to sign/buy/loan other players like strikers, wingers, a right back and a right sided centre half or whoever Conor wants then so be it.

Every time we sign a player we’re told how awful they are from their previous employers supporters. We were told repeatedly how bad Carlton Morris was yet he turned out alright. Let’s see him kick a few balls before writing him off.

Some folk need to go outside for a walk.

If we'd signed him from Preston or Boro folk would be saying it looks decent.

Club's skint, we've signed a lad with 20 Champ games last season on loan with zero risk in a position that we desperately need someone and it's met with ridicule.

    Have a day off.

    Let's be realistic....
We've signed a keeper who is brilliant.
We've signed a left back who can't be any worse than earl defending.
We've 3 more players lined up ready to drop.
That will give us 28 players.
2 or 3 will leave to help us financially so dkd will stay unless it's silly money.
The club has no money but the free transfers available will strengthen us.

I think if you take our last 2 transfer windows in isolation.
    DKD
    Humphrys
    Gent
    Nwakali
    Farrugia
    Craig
    Slonina
    Gauci
    Rodrigues
    Lewis
    Lembiska

A couple of questions around them if I may.

How many have been successful and developed to be saleable assets?

How many of the Loan players were good ?

2 loan deals in so far this summer obviously no idea if they'll be good or not, both deals though no option to buy or anything so just short term planning, doesn't give the impression of building anything substantial.

I've no idea if he's a good player or not. It's very rare I have heard of a player we sign these days. But what do you mean by it's zero risk?

We don't need an option to buy the fullback, his contract is up at the end of his loan so he'll be a free agent.

He only made one appearance in Plymouth's last 8 and was taken off at half time. In fact he only started two games in Plymouths last 15 games and was taken off at half time both times.

Not passing judgement really but Plymouth's manager didn't seem to think he was improving much or he certainly wasn't giving him game time to reflect it if he did.
