I absolutely hate the fact that we charge to be a mascot, it goes against everything a football club should stand for.
There's no wonder we kick off late every week when we actually schedule our mascots to still be on the pitch at 5 past 3
Think most clubs do it nowadays, seen prices at £400/500 at some clubs so dint think £199 is too bad at all, we're past the point in football now where things are free, I agree with you but it's another revenue stream.
£650 last season at West Ham for a pal of mine’s daughter. Crazy. And that was a category C fixture. They were charging around £100 at Scunny a couple of years ago in non league. To be fair to BFC, they do free versions too, in conjunction with the Community Trust and there’s lots of other juniors based initiatives going on. It’s a long time since such as Hecky got to be mascot for free.
My son has done this a couple of times and he was even used in the corporate images for it a few seasons back. It was worth every penny.
I know they all do it, but that doesn’t make it right. Some things shouldn’t be reserved for folk with more money than others.
