    I read this morning that he has signed an extension of his contract at WBA and it would be a loan deal because some people were
    moaning that it was a only a Lo an and we were not bying him

    You've missed the point mate, nobody knew how good David Hirst would be until they'd seen him play, he got given his chance and played 20 odd games, if we all formed the same opinion and said he's **** because he hast scored a senior goal he wouldn't have got a chance

    Sorry mate but Hirsty was the most sort after young striker in all leagues when we sold him to Wednesday, just a tad different to this lad we rumoured to be signing…..but again I say I hope he turns out a r8 player if we do sign him

    I'm not comparing them as players bud, I'm drawing comparisons of a situation, David Hirst was a complete unknown, plucked straight from youth and given his chance which he took earning a move, but if people were to form the opinion of "why we playing him he hasn't scored a career goal" before his debut then things might have been different, until you see players how can you judge if they are good enough

    I'm probably bottom of the Mladen fan club list, but I'm willing to wait until the window closes and then see how said players perform for first few months before deciding they are ****
    We won't go down, neither do I think we'll go up there's still a huge turnaround in the squad needed it's too big, hopefully the youngsters get given more game time and this time next year things might be looking a bit more something like.

    Patience is key conor will need time and support

    Get your point a little mate but Hirst was not a gamble buy for Wednesday. I can remember going down to watch us play Liverpool reserves at Oakwell back in day, not exactly sure on attendance but a few thousand there to see how Hirst faired against a strong Liverpool line up(as was the case back then), Hirst didn’t disappoint and duly ran Phil Neal (Liverpool captain and England regular) a merry dance. So I stick by my point pal and not really good anology to make.

    Fair point, it was more the majority hadn't seen him and he had no stats or history, everyone hast to have a start point.
