    Very sad news….its taking Al quick.
    A long time friend from watching Tarn and working at Wath Main.
    I’m sure Big Stan (his dad) will be waiting.

    I follow him on X, cancer was discovered only 4 months ago, as only a small Tumour on his Osephagus.
    So shocked that it has progressed so quickly
    Cancer is such an evil disease.
    Praying for a miracle for Al.

    Very sad indeed, I don’t know the bloke at all but people speaking well about him on here, so sad and only validates the old adage “live for today as you dont know what’s around the corner”

    Truly awful news, although I never met him he came across as a great guy on social media and was clearly very passionate about BFC.

    My thoughts are with his family at this awful time.

    Well all I can say having worked with Alan for nigh on 20 years at College is that he is the most dedicated Barnsley fan I have ever met and a bloody good human being. He lives and breathes BFC and he will leave a big hole in the lives of everyone that knows him.

    I don't think I've ever met Alan, but we've known Kate for over 20 years - Scoff junior was at school and at one time good friends with her youngest. He made her happy and seemed like a good bloke.
