Stair Lifts

Sorry bit off topic what with new players and home kit release....but does anyone have any recommends for good companies who offer, supply, fit, stair lifts (errrrr it for my mum..not me btw!).

They have excellent reviews.

 

Wants transporting upstairs not walking ya wassack and I'm guessing got some yrs in her yet.

 

My cousin is selling one ,her dad gone into nursing home she is other side of Doncaster though

 

I wouldn't recommend Acorn. They never leave you alone afterwards, constantly calling to either push extended warranties and servicing or tell you it's been left off charge for too long.

 

Yorkshire Stairlifts, by a country mile.

We needed to get one installed last year for my Dad, and got quotes from Acorn and a couple of others, all around £3k plus from memory.

Yorkshire Stairlifts have a fixed price service using refurbished lifts, either £850 with a 1 year warranty or £1,150 with a 3 year warranty. They also offer 6 and 12 month rental options too.

The units they use are from the big brand names anyway, so you'll probably end up with an Acorn system.

The only downside is that there's limited choice, as it depends what systems are available at the time, so if a specific design is required, then you'll need to pay the premium pricing with someone else.

Not had any issues with the one installed, and my Mum then recommended them for my Uncle, who has a more complex, curved staircase, and he got one for the same price, so the complexity of the system doesn't factor into things.

 

Di's Mam went through social services & got one fitted free, think there is some certain criteria to getting a free one but give it a try.

I got rid of my stairlift. It was driving me up the wall…..

 

We got one for my dad other year second hand about 100£ . Fitted it ourselves

My Dad had one and they were really good to be fair. Although they aren't cheap, in fact misdively over priced but I suspect most are.

I've one to sell too if you're interested, although it's still not been taken down, not got got round to it yet.

 

I run a stairlift company called Skylink Lifts and can fit you a almost new acorn stairlift with months warranty for about / of the price Acorn would fit one for if it’s the straight version. Feel free to give me a private message if you want me to give you a call to provide more information.

And may I add, the quality was superb.
