7 goals in 33 games last season. Indicative of where we are.. Sorry a meh from me.

Assuming you said the same about Carlton Morris when we signed him?

Have you looked into him any further than a couple of numbers on Wikipedia?

The mood around the club was much better when we signed Morris, plus we had 5 other strikers at the time. What have we actually got upfront now?

I agree the mood was better but it’s still judging a player based solely on goals and games. Why not judge players with what they do in a Barnsley shirt and what you’ve seen?

They never do. Young, English talent with potential who has done well in lower leagues is what people ask for. Then we aim for it and...

I really rate the lad. People need to stop going off apperances for goals too. Yeah, technically it's an appearance, but coming off the bench with 2 and a half minutes to go is hardly a fair representation.

I've not seen him play, but reading Colchester fans comments of him, Danny Cowley's admissions of the interest in him in January, and seeing his highlights reel, it's hard not to be impressed. And he's only likely to improve. Getting him in now on a 3 year deal to shadow McGoldrick could be a very shrewd bit of business. Presumably though, he'll command a fee significant enough to rule us out until we've let someone go.

Would imagine he'd command a £500k or so fee and like you say it needs us to sell before being able to commit to that.
Run the risk of someone else taking him before then.

You can assume anything you like. I'm just giving my opinion on a player on a open forum we haven't even signed.
You can a agree or disagree, nobody cares..

    Highlights reel really ?.. hehe..
I know where there's a bridge you can buy. The facts say a center forward scored 7 in 33 last season.. which get a meh from me.

Can you realistically expect our apple and orange to pay for someone who is proven to actually score goals? Be happy with nil.

Think there’s more to his game than just judging on goals. From what I’ve seen he’s quick, strong and pretty clever in link up play. For our budget I think he’d be a decent signing. A lot of clubs enquired over him in January apparently. McGoldrick would be a great mentor for him too.

From a Colchester forum - can't vouch for the accuracy - but thought I'd share nonetheless o_O

Got squad player written all over him. We need to be signing someone first choice if we are going to be using McGoldrick effectively as he won’t be able to play a full schedule. I’m all for giving lads a chance but if we do, we surely need a third attacker coming in.

More likely to mean 'Other Made-up B0ll0cks' but in this instance think it means Official Message Board.
