    Can anybody help?
I can't use my Microsoft account because I can't remember my password. All the"help" stuff just sends me round in circles, even when I call the customer service number the bot shuts me out instead of helping. If I had any hair I'd be pulling it out.

Have you got a password reset link to your phone?

No. In fact that's why I want to access my account, so that I can add my new phone to it.

Have you set up your new phone from scratch or synced the profile from the old one?

thinking that your Microsoft password would have synced and be accessed in the phone password vault?

I’m clutching a bit here but is your phone an iPhone?

when you log into you iCloud account I thought that would have stored all your passwords. If it’s android I have no clue.

another option might be to try and create a new Microsoft account using the existing email address, that might trigger some kind of backup email or similar

other than that it’ll be a trawl through google and the Microsoft community I guess

It's an android phone. There's no problem with the phone, it's Microsoft's customer services / help pages that are the problem, as pages and pages of community pages appear to confirm. The system appears designed to not help. Probably means they then don't have to employ customer service workers.
