Just got back from Tarn, Glassworks square busy with the brass bands playing and folk sat in deck chairs. At Mandela gardens the Barnsley Pride is in full swing. Glorious hot day as well. Get in and enjoy
Just had a drive through now, capital of the north soon, hen parties……pride events……bars brimming…..glass wiles square buzzing ……..can’t we have a stab at city (town) of culture?
We’ve got everything else so may aswell add this to our collection. Seriously though, what a town!! Me and my youngest love a drive through town on a weekend just to see it all lit up and busy…..
Even those who slagged our town off. Some unmercifully on here, but imo had an axe to grind. (unjustifiably in the sense of generalisation) Should, if already haven't, pay a visit. I'm amazed how many of our own haven't or don't visit. its often said the people are the most friendly, by outsiders . (Of course there are some undesirables. But not seen as much, hardly at all, as in past times, What place doesn't have em.) More developed themed weekends. Sporting type events. Can only add to its popularity.
There’s a kids ‘Active Zone/play area thing going off today. I still know some who just pull a face and shrug off the suggestion of spending time in Tarn either for boozing or having a day out with family. I’m sure they think it’s beneath them to go into Tarn, and yet they still harp on about ‘druggies’ etc from their last visit of about 3-4 years ago. Edit: forgot to add, BFC Community team and Tobey Tyke are there as well
