Looked like a decent enough game for a friendly. Just a pity it wasn't held at Oakwell or Ibrox. Would have been a quality day out either way.
I think too many people make their mind up about a player, whether good or bad (mostly the latter), and then refuse to change that belief. If their perception is that a player is bad, then they only notice / comment on incidents which support their perception. The old Confirmation Bias syndrome.
Also, to your last point; Maël gets brought up on threads which have nothing to do with him, and sometimes, nothing to do with football.
I suppose when you consider we got a proper tonking in a friendly with Leeds not so long ago getting a draw against these Scottish Giants is a decent result.
Yeah this is exactly my point about scapegoating and going too far etc mate. Its bordering on ridiculous. Agree with your first point too about people making their minds up and refusing to change. I find myself defending Mael quite a bit, not because he's a brilliant footballer, I think he's a decent league one defender, has very good games and has very bad games, hence why he's labelled decent. If he was more consistent, I think he could be a very good league one defender. Anyway, the reason I defend him a lot is exactly the reasons you've pointed out. People make out like he's the worst defender we've ever had, and he's miles from it. Random posts about anything and everything Mael will get fetched up and slaughtered. Just think its unfair on the lad.
