    Potters Ballotini.. still going strong at Hoyle Mill.. And across the road from their what is now Beevor Street Ind est. Was Wood Bros Glass.. closed around 1980.

    I really didnt understand how that ex army bloke couldnt have known about glass in Barnsley. Also, I worked at Redfearns as design draughtsman for over 20 years and thought I knew plenty about glass processing in the town but I never realised Wood Bros made window glass. I had always known them to produce pharmaceutical glassware.

    Do we reckon he likes glass? He didn't mention it much.

    But yeah, it was nice to see another lovely video highlighting the improvement of the town. And good to see Neil on there too. Gets everywhere bless him.

    Barnsley Council get so much stick.
    We should be proud of our town,we dont realise how good it is till you listen to someone else.

    Am not sure they did, unless it was really early day stuff. Float glass was a late 60' invention I think. Before that it was extruded and polished glass and I don't think that was done in the Barnsley area (pilkingtons in Donny). Barnsley was all container glass, except for Ballotini.
