If only it had been documented that he had allegedly had falling outs at previous clubs that led to him being moved along etc and perhaps we could have avoided this scenario playing out if that is indeed the case here.
If you had seen the Cambridge away game, when he was heavily involved and had a 93% successful pass completion rate, you would have thought he was brilliant and far too good for League One.
Back when we didn't give a **** what was happening, we just turned back up in August and spent the next few games trying to work out who the new players were.
With this, and all things 1st Team related this close season, my most common Report Card comment would apply: "Could do better".
I must have missed the era of when Mael got nothing but stick... especially 5 months ago?? Ey? I agree on Nwakali. After his first game for us, people were saying he'd be playing in prem before long and scared we'd lose him. I remember because I said fans are bigging him up far too much and when he inevitably has worse/average games, their expectations will turn to disappointment and undue criticism. So unfair to judge a player so highly off such a short amount of playing time! Hes excellent on the ball. His passes are sublime. But the rest...
Not Mael getting stick. I meant I was getting stick for suggesting he was making mistakes that weren’t getting punished. He seemed to have a couple of bad games where every mistake he made got punished & now almost everyone seems to want to shut of him even though he’s still the same player he was a few months back.
He plays for us for a reason ,if he was any good he would be playing elsewhere. That is the harsh reality.
