Not Glassworks but Civic/Eldon Street redevelopment - Nailmaker were supposed to be opening a bar there in the Winter but don't even appear to have the keys yet. Anyone know what the hold up is?
It’s Katie O’Briens. It’s still listed on their website as coming soon: https://katieobriensirishtaverns.com/barnsley An application to change the use class on the unit from a restaurant to a bar was submitted in March and approved in May. I’d assume it’s still going ahead.
I read somewhere that our Flannels is the most profitable store (for size) in the country, how true that is I’m not sure but it’s no more expensive than Frank birds and they’ve survived years. There’s a market believe it or not I use it myself and frank birds regular I’d much rather shop in town than Meadowhall
If you search this thread at the top with your username that's about the 9th negative post about Flannels you have put, l take it you don't like them? I think it's a quality addition to the Glassworks and someone posted about it's doing great according to the store manager. They don't have to sell much at those prices.
I speak to the manager when I go in and she was telling me last Christmas for the size of the store it was one if the highest performing in the country
If I wanted something from river Island I'd go to meadowhall. The one in town is about as big as my living room and they've hardly ever got anything decent in.
What about cortonwood in comparison. ? Not a shop I venture in, so no idea. I'm much more with it. Now. ! Primark. Best shop in tarn bar parndland
Same as the next store in Barnsley waste of space they sell beggar all.If you go to Meadowhall differant again.
Really don’t understand people who want businesses to close down leaving the town empty just because they don’t shop there I quite like river island, yes it’s small but it’s better than what we had in town 10 years ago do we really want to go back to a town with boarded up stores just because Steve from Cundy cross doesn’t like the fit of the jeans Christ
