Pens need practicing just in case. We were lucky. We were obsessed with hitting to the right of the keeper.
A win is a win and they did well to get back into the game but good grief they were absolutely awful tonight in the main and that penalty shootout is by a distance the worst one I have ever seen. Absolutely woeful.
Some awful penalties there but some crackers too. Those penalties from Kelly and Bronze were never getting saved. You could tell who was going to score and who was going to miss just from their body language when they were setting up. Most of the players looked absolutely terrified of missing.
Chris almighty that was probably the worst shootout I’ve ever seen some pathetic attempts but who cares we won .
To make it worse the beer ran out in the 78th minute...Ian shot out to the Offy who only had low alcohol left.
Super happy that they made it through, but that was a bit of a shambles of a performance, especially the shoot out. I don't think Italy are as good as Sweden, so maybe today was the luck you need to win a trophy? Defensively, all over the place. Carter is not up to this level. Very concerned at Leah Williamson's injury, it didn't look good. My god they miss Millie Bright. Massive kudos for Chloe Kelly. Despite having had the most iconic moment in England women's football, I've never really been convinced she warranted the role of game changer, but tonight she showed up big time and saved us. Big factor now is how bad the injuries were. As well as Leah, Lauren James and Lucy Bronze were clearly carrying knocks at the end. Hope they're good for the semis.
Real Madrid v Manchester United 2017 International Champions Cup 10 penalties taken 7 missed , the crowd were apparently laughing at the players United won 2-1
I’ve not read through the thread yet, as I’m sat in brewpub in The Haight consuming IPAs which are too strong for me to concentrate. That can wait until later. But anyway: Why were we so nervous at the start? What a great comeback. Do they use the Men’s penalty coach? On to the Semis; Onwards and Upwards!
