Hey, I've got family visiting from overseas next week and I want to show them some proper good Sunday food. I'd love a pub lunch in a beautiful setting, great quality food, and some decent beer on tap.

What are your suggestions in and around Barnsley, Sheffield, Wakefield, Rotherham etc.

    Thanks all

I'd go out into the Peak District, there's a great range of pubs to choose from.

The Fleece at Holme is very nice, home cooked food and surrounded by countryside. 5 minute drive to the top of Holme moss gives you great long distance views.

Burntwood Court at Brieley ,silver service and lovely food. Starter ,main, desert, coffee/ tea un a mint. Great for a special occasion as its £27.50 but you get what you pay for. Not keen on Rustics or Cobbler as carverys it's standing for ages sometimes. Angel at Ackworth is excellent too but have to book in advance ,its very popular.

Another vote for Boatman’s. Went today and even though it was absolutely rammed (good sign I guess?) it always is a very nice roast.

If there's a better Sunday dinner than the one at the Boatman's rest, I'm yet to try it.

    I'd suggest booking though.

Boatmans Rest. You have to book first though. The best by far,
