5. Too reliant on loans, defence hasn't had any work done to it and we can't get clubs to buy our fringe players. No sign of an away shirt.
I’ve been in the car park waiting to badger Mladen about signing a right back since 8:30 this morning. Don’t DM me for nudes.
About exactly what I expected really from this management/board loads of talk and little action. So performing as I had expected really unfortunately.
I hope that you had a great time Bill. I am happy with our signings so far, but we need another 4 or 5, especially a right back
Squad still in a flux with kick off just over a week away not ideal Looking decent going forward at times, still looking dodgy at the back at times. A bang average 5 at best from me But there is still 6 weeks of the window left to address our failings So still living in hope..as some keep insisting 'the best players always sign late in the window' .. Can't wait for that to begin..
6 Improved our forward line with quality and potential although still need another number 9 the rest still feels too similar to last season and we haven’t got the squad needed to sustain a top six challenge.
Our points total is guaranteed to be last season plus the highest of: - Stephen Humphry's increase in weekly wage for pissing off to Bradford - The combined number of professional football games attended by Neerav and Julie - The number of Colchester stubs in free circulation
6 Continued to move on some players and salary costs that were costing more than they contributed to the squad Signed a few players upfront that strengthen the team Young players had some opportunities to stake a claim Fitness and team cohesion developing Defensive weaknesses persist Still playing Mael at righback Lack of clear first XI developing a structure and understanding of playing together
Based on the York game, the only one I have seen, all the new signings look to have something to offer, which is a marked improvement on some recent windows. From an attacking point of view, assuming DKD stays, and, ideally, Russell too, we could have a great deal to offer. However, we are crying out for defensive reinforcements.
I was pleased to hear about McGoldrick and it wouldn't suprise me if he out scored strikers like May and others who are costing an arm and a leg through transfer fees and wages.
I'm going for an 8, some 5hite gone, not it all but its a start an 5 decent league 1 potential players in. Right back a must have, an another up front man, with pedigree.
From what I've seen of the new lads mate. Fills me with a little more confidence. But RB especially needs attention. And centre backs maybe. I'm looking forward to Shepherd starting. (Not sure what crack is with lopata. Other than someone mentioned injury) 5 out of 10, we still haven't prioritised the defence based on a back 4.
Still at least 4 players light in the squad, first 11 ok nothing more rest of squad weak, A couple of long term injuries to first teamers and we would be in trouble. 4 at best
4 or 5 if im being generous. Weak upfront and relying on the 98 year old McGoldrick. Unconvinced by the signings for winger and lacking depth No proper right back. A team player MDG as a full back is bottom 8. Defence needed a reboot given how porous it’s been and it’s not quite happened. I can’t quite see a centre half pair that works. Still a lot can happen in a few weeks. We could get in a quality RB/CF and winger and it would tip to an 8
6, the players we have signed i am happy with, but i still think we are short in areas, especially right back where its a must we sort something before the opening day.
