    I don't hate it.

But take away the sponsors and badge and it does look like something off the market that a fizzy drink addicted UFO obsessive would wear, along with their denim waistcoat and baseball cap with a howling wolfpack on.

"Where's yer kestrel?" is or used to be the barb to anyone from Barnsley. I'm sure the Sheffield lot will have fun with us over it.

I'm not a fan, but then, I'm not a fan of Kes either.

    Much prefer the home shirt.

    But each to their own.

I'd just like to say, that whatever the design and colors were, the same few posters on here would have hated it, and would also have a go at JAQ in the process. My only surprise is that no one has yet had a dig at MdG in this post, as that seems the norm, even when it's not related in anyway to him. Also, not liking Kes is Sedition and / or Treason in God's Own Country.

As I said regards the home shirt - take all the gubbins off it and it’s a decent shirt.

I’m a big fan of the film Kes. So much so that I got contact details for Dai Bradley and - no idea how - got him to come and reenact his goalposts scene, but at Oakwell and featuring Michael Duff, on camera. So yeah, I love that film, and it’s iconic Barnsley innit.

But I don’t want a kestrel on the BFC shirt, just as I don’t want stars on it, or dark red roses that look like sweat marks. Also, if you’re going that route in terms of colour, why is the club crest in its usual colours? Horrendous design choice. And why have they framed the club crest, which is already framed?

Remove the gubbins from the home and away shirts and they’d be really classy designs. Look at the goalkeeper shirts, they’re both fantastic.

Only my opinion and a reminder that I don’t buy or wear football shirts so I’m not the target audience. :D

If they were going the Kes route, it had to be Dai Bradley flicking the V's or nowt. You'll have to explain the kestrel to anyone who asks, which kind of defeats the object...

I'm absolutely convinced that this is a seen as a way to get some weird social media metric up around engagement and to prove how much we've grown the brand as part of a sale.
