It looks like an eighties boiler suit. So since I'm a fat bugger I'm buying one.

Looking again, it reminds me very much of the 2002/03 season away shirt with it's metallic sheen and collar.

I very much hope we do better than we did that season back then. Someone might be inclined to do the research but I want to say we won only once wearing it and I really don't want us needing an Isaiah Rankin special to avoid dropping to the fourth tier!!

Get rid of the council badge, two blokes in flares.
Wish we would design a new tyke badge in the style of the Wolves badge.

    The Kestrel isn't a hawk, it's a falcon.

It’s approaching ok, aside from the naff kestrel, though as others have mentioned, what on earth are they thinking with the badge? It jars badly and just makes it look like it’s been stitched onto a random shirt as an afterthought.

My biggest issue though is the shorts colour. It’s not going to be very different to the home shorts, if we play a team with white shorts, we’re doing to have to change them. I can see us wearing a third kit (I’m guessing they’ll want to try rinsing the fans as much as possible again) a lot or a hybrid with changed shorts.

You’d think such things might be considered given other clubs might play at home with very light shorts.

I couldn’t find a Kestrel. Then I realised it was Roberts’ sweat patch.

I think the colour is too close to last season's away shirt.

The kestrel will be divisive, no doubt, but I quite admire the fact we've gone Full Kestrel W.ank.er on it.

It helps if you're from Barnsley. (But have spoken to many who rate Kes highly not from the area.) Both have connections. Kes filmed in the area. Many South Yorkshire actors/actresses

Brassed off (mining and grimey brass band) imo and tbf most of my dee dah mates. Was a far better film than the full monty.

You may not be interested mate but that's to your detrement as both are great films.
But I suppose the same could be said for me as I've never seen a Star wars film and many other supposed blockbusters. I have no wish to watch.

BTW. Like the Away shirt. And the Goalies shirt.
Decent quality from what I've looked at in the shop. (Home and Goalie)

Yeah you've summed it up there Hook, in your opening comment... which I'm NOT, of course lol.
But this as with most subjects on here, is all down to our own personal choices and opinions innit.
For example, I'm a big fan of things like Wwf wrestling, and video games. And a lot of other people, obviously aren't!.

Whilst that would also be an awful away shirt, I’d be at the front of the queue to buy one!

The reality is, it's just a book, a story, that people find solace in fake nostalgia.
