    If we’re looking in that pool I’d sooner get Ollie Pearce from York. Scores for fun, including against us. Would be a gamble but if the price was right, why not?

    It certainly has Peterborough written all over it, I'm not sure about us though. Dallas aside, who is a lot more experienced, it's been a while since we signed a striker from that level.

    Agree with Arch.. especially when it says record fee. Peterborough sold a few over the summer so will have a couple of quid spare.

    I don't think Dallas has had a chance. Reckon he was a spread sheet signing. Kayden Jackson never had a chance here, that proved to be an error. As for Stefan Payne. The injury he sustained kyboshed his chances here.

    Another theory about some over players where it hasn't worked out such as Kyran Lofthouse, Hondermarck and Stevie Mallan to name three. Were they just spread sheet picks? Signed and not wanted by their head coaches?

    Hecky let sumat slip while he was in charge. Words to the effect of the club can sign who they want but I'm picking the team.

    Wow you’re actually right. That is a very forgettable list, apart from Jackson who did okay in the football league.

    I must mean “we only do well with centre backs” from non league.

    Not really sure we did mess up with Jackson. Hes scored 13 league goals in the last 5 years, he's 31 year old so has been in his prime. He had one decent season with Ipswich in league one where he scored 11 league goals in over 30 games, the only other good season was with Accrington Stanley in league 2 before he joined Ipswich. He averages about 3-4 league goals a season.

    I didn’t say we messed up with him, just that unlike the others in the list, he actually forged a career in the football league. Although I wouldn’t have minded us receiving the transfer fee Ipswich paid for him…
