Happy with that, seems a good move and a good group with bags of experience to guide the younger players.
So he’s clearly not going anywhere then. Nor Earl, despite the ‘in the know’ types’ assertions. I hope he recaptures the form he illustrated in his first year at the club.
Seems the obvious person to give it to while he's here. I thought he tried too hard last season and the captaincy contributed to that. If he can keep it simple, not over commit and leave the attacking to others, he could be much better. I'll still be surprised if he's here come September though.
Obviously staying then, I like that , so probably be Phillips or Russell to go, that’s if we price DKD out of the equation
I hope it doesn't affect his game. A lot of responsibility on young shoulders. I hope like others he reaches his best game. As good as any of the squad at his best. Good luck young man.
Good. Nobody decent sold, one or two potentially good blokes in and, if we get a RB in we may actually be stronger than last year....possibly
Incentive to stay maybe - Conor obviously rates him. Would still have given it to Robbo though as he's more of a leader on the pitch.
To be fair he wasn't crap last season...in an inconsistent team he was ok and no more inconsistent than anyone else imo
Wasn't Redfearn the Captain when we sold him to Charlton and Mads to Luton and Conor to Villa. You'd think not but nothing guaranteed in this game mate, but I get what you are saying, the indications bode well.
First of all, I wouldn't say it's an indicator that he'll be staying. We have to have a captain heading into the season, and to date he's still our player with no bid received or accepted - so you plan for what you've got. Secondly, I think Philips will be the one to leave. There was a moment in the interview yesterday at 20m:10s ish where Conor mentioned mentioned about interest in players. He mention Connell, which we know about but also Phillips. It may have just been a name thrown into a point having just listened to it back, but at the time it seemed to stand out for me.
