Wouldn't be allowed, if the FA are consistent. Rotherham had to quit Don Valley as it wasn't "in" Rotherham.
That's exactly it, they will come out of it more massiver, in the short term they might drop a division or two but Chansiri will disappear and they won't be short of new owners wanting to take them back to where they belong.
Tbh I'd be more sympathetic if they were like Blackpool fans who made sacrifices to get rid of their owners and full on boycotted. They seem to be blaming the EFL for their dilemma even though they were calling the EFL all sorts when they were looking into the sale of the ground to get around fair play regs.
Profits at his companies have declined. Hence he's much less to take from them to throw down the pan.
Only people I feel sorry for are the staff that desperately need their wage to pay their bills. But the club and the fans, absolutely no sympathy at all.
I'm old enough to remember when the supoorters weren't segregated. There was rivalry, but it wasn't accompanied with foul mouthed chanting and vitriol. The banter was genuiely witty and funny and the experience on the terraces was sometimes more entertaining than the football. I worked with Owls, Blades, Millers, Leeds, Donny and Huddersfield supporters. In the main they were all decent people none of whom I would ever imagine engaging in the "Schadenfreude" that appears on here. Perhaps it's a generational thing or more likely the animosity stems from what is posted online. I expect Wednesday have more barmpots than than us as they have a larger fan base, but we have our fair share. Sadly it's what football has become and it's not for the better.
Yep, I'm all for a bit of pantomime vitriol on match days, but the proper fans there are no different to us. My son's girlfriend's family are all diehard Wendy and you couldn't meet nicer folk. They've taken my lad into their family as one of their own and I've had more than a few drunken evenings in their company putting the world to rights. Down with Chansiri, BOOOOO to Wendy, but let's keep some perspective. There but for the grace etc etc.....
The problem is that we aren't living within our means, along with 99% of the clubs in the football league (I'm sure there must be one out there who's the exception, but couldn't name them without doing any research), because the current structure of the English professional game doesn't allow any club to do so. We are heavily reliant on Neerav, JAQ and the Crynes continuing to cover annual losses in the millions. The only difference between us and Wednesday currently is that their owner has reached the point where he's stopped being able to do so. I think we're seeing the start of the current unsustainable bubble bursting for the EFL, and I'd expect a similar scenario to follow over time to that following the collapse of ITV Digital. Long-term, the game needs it to happen and for financial common sense to be adopted again. The start of the problem was the creation of the Premier League and it has gotten progressively worse since then. As always, it will be the fans of the clubs impacted who suffer, and we are reliant upon a small group of people that a significant proportion of our fanbase actively want to depart from the club to not be in the same financial situation.
Embarrassing some of the comments from grown men/women. 'Fuxx Em' blah blah. Get a grip. Vote Green or summat.
Think the only realistic way they can get shut of Chansiri is for the fanbase to essentially force change through boycotting the club. A negative side of that is they could end up folding and being thrown out of the EFL. Not wanting to massage their egos, but they have got a decent sized fanbase. If they had to register a new team and compete at the bottom of the pyramid, a partly fan owned new club would IMO rise pretty sharply up the levels to at least League 2 status. Then that new club would start to face the financial challenges again, do they live within their means or again start building up masses of debt putting everything at risk again. I do have lots of sympathy for the average football fan here. Even living within their means, that larger fanbase purely from being in a decent sized city means they naturally would have bigger resources than your average L2 or L1 club. I think soon enough, a club like Wednesday is going to have to make that choice of dropping off the football radar and rising from the ashes. If they did go down that route and started chasing the dream again building up huge debts, I don't think that sympathy would be extended again.
Might soon be about time to finally text back that "mate" who text me the evening of the Wembley final with "bet you're crying right now."
A lot of questions with few answers, because gobs****s at the fa can’t be bothered. Amateurs in blazers on a nice earner. Perhaps there’d be some answers if they did their job. Making rules about “fit and proper” persons without defining the standard they have to live up to is negligent. I sometimes wonder what you’d have to do to become less than fit and proper. The game should be policed for the good of the game and all its stakeholders rather than just the suit behind the big desk. Given the situation at the fowls there should be a team of FA managers in there now sorting it out. Let’s not forget Morecambe in this as well.
