    It wasn't a straight red for deliberate handball, which is what you seem to be suggesting. It was a harsh yellow card, following an absolutely ridiculous first yellow card for being pulled to the ground and held down.

    Is there a rule that refs can't book anyone for the first 30 mins, thereafter every misdemeanour is a yellow card?

    Or do these refs just have their quirks?

    Well it didn't take long for the holes in the squad to be laid bare Shepherd definitely and Roberts potentially out for 1 game looking threadbare in defence after 1 game show how poor up to now recruitment as been this summer again.

    I'd have to watch it back but from what I'd seen didn't look deliberate had his arm out pointing put his arm down then turned away from the block in protection mode, both arms not raised above his waist.

    Tbf I'd say that's pretty unfortunate - we've got 4 CBs (all starting) and wouldn't expect to lose 2 on the first day. Barratt and Ogbeta as full backs, with Gent to return. Realistically we're short a first choice RB.

    I haven't criticised him or implied anything. And you've only quoted half my response where I clearly say its a booking. The following is the other part of my post.

    "I think it's harsh, but it's definitely a foul and the laws of the game say a deliberate handball is a booking so there's nothing to appeal."
