The full bbc report is up now l, even more laughable for this “journalist”. Apparently he’s a “multi award winning journalist”. Jesus. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/crkzd5xlxrdt
Ridiculous report... "Argyle dominated much of the play"??? We clearly had the higher xG even without Max Watters!
I only listened on radio sheffield but my impression was that Barnsley did reasonably well. I would like to know about the strengths and weaknesses of the defence in particular as I was concerned about right full back and centre half before the season. Also, I did notice that some people were slagging Earl off in the first half. Was that justified? Be nice to hear from people who saw the game. Ta.
Great win and not what I expected. It was a bit hairy at times but we hung in and showed character which wasn’t seen very often last year. That said, our main problem in recent seasons has been home form rather than away… Anyway, the best team is always the one who scores the most goals.
Earl was coolness itself and looked classy throughout. Never flustered. He does lack a bit of pace, but, as we didn't keep a high line, this did not work against him. He looked assured in the left back position. No complaints from me. He played his full part in the excellent possession and passing game we produced until the sending off when we went a bit too hoof-ball
I must have been written by Bournemouth's Willo guy. Well, I suppose that you need to do something to keep in the manager's good books if you want the next story. Trouble is, fans will only put up with this sort of excuse once, or twice and then even the Trump-lovers will turn on him.
Absolutely ridiculous that Shepherd got booked for this when he was being dragged all over. He nearly had his shirt ripped off his back. He must be a really level headed guy because he didn’t lose his cool at all and kept trying to visibly prove that his arms were nowhere near Wiredu. The Plymouth lad’s lucky he didn’t try that with someone who has a bit more of a temper.
That’s a great video, to me shepherd did nothing wrong, but wood the clown in the green that completely takes one of our players out (it looks like Yagantahan) AND what did the ref do about that???? Sweet FA
I don’t think we can appeal either mate, unbelievable that some on here thought second yellow justified as deliberate handball !, they must all be Gary Willard’s love children lol
It does for Saturday though that's the problem, especially if Roberts is out mate. Atrocious refereeing.
Deffo wasnt deliberate handball as he was turning his back to the ball, will have been a second yellow given because his hand blocked a through ball
Did you know... Apparently, they haven't beat us in two successive home games, since doing it back in '72 & '79. And we avoided a certain hat trick of defeats today. After previously losing twice at Plymouth, on the opening days of the season, in '91 & '22.
