In honour of the Argyle No 4 Wiredu who had the proverbial stinker and got hooked at half time, anyone recall a worse debut either for or against the reds? Dale Jennings, Mowatt and Carl Regan all got reds on debut i recall. Jennings stands out (push/shove/punch?), any others? Today's was impressive- comedy own goal, hoof in the air for no 2 and a yellow all in 45 mins. Looked like a competition winner......
Be difficult to beat conceding a penalty, nearly getting a second yellow and subbed off around the half hour mark
Yeah Carl Regan was a poor signing wasn't he. I think Dave Bassett signed him from Everton, so we were entitled to expect better. But didn't we beat Norwich at home in the '00 season opening day, despite his red card ?.
He did. Awful challenge vs Wigan when they were already 2 up (I think) in 13/14, then got absolutely crocked by some Crawley orc in 14/15 but got a straight red for daring to give some back - still one of those decisions where the only logical reason is that the ref was on the opposition's payroll or was on some strong, strong drugs.
Frimpong. Kicked the Wednesday players more than he did the ball. To this day I genuinely think he'd backed himself for a red card. Paul Warhurst a close second.
