Happy 21st Season, BBS-ers! On 13 July 2005, after Barnsleyfc.net went up in smoke, we rushed to spin up a new forum before the 2005-06 campaign kicked off. Twenty full roller-coaster seasons later, the 2025-26 opener is here—and that makes this our 21st season together. Not bad, really! Thinking about what we've discussed and enjoyed together over the years (or not in some cases ) Promotions & relegations – from champagne celebrations to gut-punch drop-days (and the eternal spreadsheet maths in between). New owners & boardroom dramas – mystery investors, strange consortiums and a boardroom coup Cup runs – Wembley weekends, giant-killings, and ticket-allocation meltdowns that broke the swear filter. Legal threats – angry letters served to posters and admins alike (libel law: the unexpected spectator sport). A morning with the police – who were investigating a forum poster because their predictions of players we were after were too well informed and only the top echelon of the club knew we were after. Forum legends – beloved heroes, notorious trolls, stats nerds, and one guy who has an unhealthy interest in squirrels What did I forget? Were you there at the beginning? Which past members do you miss and would like to see return for a guest appearance?
Can't thank you enough Gally for providing this service. It's been a part of my life for more years than it hasn't
You're not going to tell us, but if you don't ask... Who was that? Was I there at the beginning? Yes, one of the first handful to post on here. I think you got us to test it. A lifetime ago. Cheers Paul, really appreciated.
Thanks for providing this place for us all. It cannot be under estimated what it provides people. Not just a football forum. A place for friendships to grow A place for advice A place for company A place for debate A place for refuge A rescue The BBS has provided hundreds of us with something very valuable. It is a community which offers support (and sometimes sadly the opposite). But it really is a very positive community. Thank you for providing it. My life would be lost without it.
Thank you sincerely. Especially valuable for those who live a little further afield and want to keep that connection with home.
The one web site/page that I believe I've probably been to every day of the last 21 years (plus the previous versions). A big thanks to Gally for running it free for us users, and without adverts too. A lovely clean site. So many great posters on there, and brilliant for advice away from football. I've been on two walks (to Bradford and Chesterfield) and met so many folk from here on there. As Fired says, it's such a community place. What else can I say? COYR.
I used to read this site for the last 8 years or so, but only got the chance to sign up when it opened up for new members recently. Long time listener, first time caller situation.
This forum is the best place in the internet. Many thanks to Gally and the lads, I don't know what I'd do all day without it.
