You wanted him to come out in agony, the day after his injury... so Josh Tongue could have a swing with his test average of 6?!?

Please tell me you're an under 6 football coach

It’s been a great series, spoiled by the stupid schedule, which hasn’t allowed enough rest between matches, leading to both teams having to rest key players. Disappointing we didn’t win. Even more disappointing I didn’t stick a tenner on India to win yesterday, when the odds were crazy. But India didn’t deserve to lose the series, so a draw is a fair result. Great bowling this morning, with India helped by some dodgy batting.

I imagine Chris Woakes is currently getting an ear bashing from Mrs Woakes for putting himself at risk of further injury like that!

no excuse for some of the pathetic shots from most of the England batsmen, no matter how well I did were playing, that was a ‘won ‘ match chucked away

Eh? I suggest you pop down to A&E and meet a few people who’ve just dislocated their shoulder.

Yes he was playing in agony today but wasn't deemed by management well enough to play in agony first time around.

I'm pretty sure they hadn't. That's not what elite-level sportspeople do. That's one of the reasons why they play at the elite level.

Fact is if Harry Brook had half a brain we'd have won the series.

If his shot early in his innings hadn't been carried over the line, we'd probably have got nowhere near close.

I know you pretty much come on here seeking a reaction, but christ that is some beyond b.ll.ocks nonsense that I had to give you what you want.

110 coming in at 110-3 and batting your side into a position you should win the match and you decide it's his fault. Idiocy.

They were done. The bowlers were bowling medium pace. The fielders were making half hearted efforts. And we had two set batters in. Brook could've carried on playing attacking shots without forcing anything by charging down the pitch and completely losing his shape. That's what I'd expect from Liam Livingstone, not Harry Brook.

Plus without his rapid 99 the 1st Test is a loss or draw and we lose the series

No doubt it was a crazy shot by Brook but I also thought Bethell was barmy for charging down the pitch when all he had to do was stay there with Root.
The real reason for the defeat though was the inept fielding and bowling that meant we were probably chasing at least 100 more than we needed to be.

It's not often I agree with him but on this occasion I make an exception. If Brook rightly takes the plaudits for playing well under pressure and putting the team in with a chance of winning the he has to take criticism when England needed 70 or so in a day and a half of cricket and he plays a really poor shot and holds out at cover.

15 more overs playing steady cricket, hitting the bad ball and the game was likely won at a canter. Instead he put pressure on everyone below him (especially as there was no Woakes unless needed). India got a glimmer of hope and took it.
