They did take over a bit of a mess though didn't they.Thats what will take patience rectifying the wrongs from the previous owners.
We.d be in a lot bigger mess without them Wasn't it the present regime who open'd the lid on Conway and Lee.?
Think it would be negligent of us to not bring in another striker we aren’t that lucky that DKD and McGoldrick won’t get injured.
Losing £9m a year is not sustainable unless the owners are willing to meet those loses. BFC are one of the least sustainable clubs in the league.
We definitely need another forward player preferably who plays central but can go wide in the three to give us more options. I think dkd is suited to the role Phillips played on Saturday which to me looked like the attacking one in the midfield three. A right sided defender mainly a right back who could do a job more centrally would be perfect. I suspect these positions are going to involve a fee so personally wouldn't mind if Russell and or Phillips have to go to fund them. In a ideal world we could keep both and add them two but we are skint and it won't be a option.
Not disputing that but considering what they took over surely they deserve some time and leeway to get back on an even keel.
the point is they haven’t been getting a grip they took over in 2022 (and part of the board had been involved longer than that. They continued to spend more money than we can afford for poor players on long contracts, sacked head coaches that they had given multi year deals, employed multiple coaching staff yet gone backwards on the pitch despite us having a so called plan to work towards.
Don’t know about you guys but it’s just hard to get excited spending such a large amount of cash on such unexciting players.
Who’s to say we won’t be sustainable (or as close as you can expect to be). I know some people would rather see us lose money frivolously chasing success, than doing what we’re doing, but once we start breaking transfer records and smashing the clubs wage structure (with no long term guarantees), we could be on a very slippery slope.
Id never heard of him. I liked the buzz around McGoldrick & Vickers on Saturday. Ones nearing the end of his career and the others not our player, but if they help us get up this season, great!
If our first team 11 played for free would we break even then ? It beggars belief how we can be losing 8 million a year without selling players.
Yeah they do now, but there’s nothing to say things won’t improve or in the case of some fans, the success matches the losses? Had we been successful in one of our playoff campaigns, we’d probably be still losing money, but at the arse end of the league above, and some would find that more acceptable. It’s just like I said in another post - results are everything in football. Spunk money on winning, no one sees a problem with it. Spunk money on not winning, and we’ve sold our soul to the devil of no due diligence.
not even fussed re the performance of the team I just want the club to be sustainable because quite quickly if the owners changes their mind, or runs out of business and we could easily become the next Morecombe, Sheff weds or Wigan. At that point we can’t ask the club to manage its finances better. We can’t deride other clubs when we have a club that’s equally as bad (but hopefully next set of accounts show some signs of life) but we won’t know until next march now.
