Can't just keep doing regular cheap ticket options or season ticket holders would be out of pocket. Everyone misses a couple for whatever reason and it would get to the point where it wouldn't be worth buying a ST. ST holders have to be taken into consideration.
Agreed, but with a full(ish) house and another good result, you'll quickly get to a point where you don't need to reduce prices any more. Build it and they will come.
3k tomorrow is extremely optimistic in my opinion. If they'd made it FOC for all fans who buy a TWENTY SEVEN ENGLISH POUNDS FOR A TIER 3 GAME Bolton ticket, then 3k tomorrow / 15k Saturday could have been pretty accurate
I'm OK with it in our current state, as we need to rebuild the base. Looking out over the Ponty and West from my ST in the ESL, I would prefer to see the ground full than the current gaps, regardless of whether they are paing less than me. Longer term though, yeah, club should bank the gesture to be used in future evidence.
To be honest, it doesn’t bother me how many cheap ticket offers the club does. I’d rather see the ground with as many people in as possible. I just think it may put plenty off from buying a ST next time around if they’re not seeing any savings. It’s a bit of a balancing act getting it right.
I don't see what the happy medium is.To compete we can't give tickets away at low prices like we did on Saturday.I'd definitely vote for £20s plenty if every other club did the same.I got my ticket for Peterborough £24 for over 65s and I think its £28 for adults. Whatever is done its got to be across the board of every league 1 club.
Which isn’t going to happen. A lot of clubs can shift big numbers at £28 each so no way will they drop to £20 a game.
Could be creative though and reward season ticket holders for attending those same games. Something like award points and end of season if you’ve collected enough get a discount on next year. Same with casuals as could encourage them to purchase a ST next year. Flaws with this like all but encourages short and hopefully long term and extra money spent on attending covers the discounts.
Clubs a bit stuck really now. £27 is ridiculous for third division football but once you put your season ticket prices out there at a certain amount, you cant just keep flogging home tickets at £15 to fill the ground as what's the incentive to buy a season ticket if that's the case. Would work out cheaper to not bother and just buy tickets each week. For a family, it prices a lot of people out of going. Buying 4 or 5 tickets, travel, food, drink, programmes etc your talking easily north of £100 by time your done for a 4 hour afternoon out. Your getting third division football at that too. I would like nothing more than to take the family every home game when we can make it but sometimes it just isnt financially viable. Last Saturday was. 4 tickets for around £45. Great value.
