    Why do so many Barnsley fans have to behave like absolute idiots on social media?

    It’s embarrassing.

    Every Bristol Rovers post is littered with Reds fans criticising Clarke.

    I don’t really get it. He was sacked by us & hasn’t said anything bad about the club or fan base since departing. He would be well within his rights to criticise the club after the January window as well.

    The weirder thing is Clarke’s managed Rovers & had success with them before. He spent far longer with them than he did with us. I don’t think any Bristol Rovers fans need to hear the opinions of gobshite Barnsley fans on social media.

    Could you imagine Heckingbottom coming back to manage Barnsley & a load of Preston fans commenting on every post saying how **** he is? It would be a bit weird.

    Many of the people commenting are adults too.

    If any of you are on here stop embarrassing us.

    Never been on those sites and therefore don’t get riled up by the apeths that I hear about. As for Clarke, didn’t think he did a good job here but wish him all the best.

    Clarke wasn't great for us but I don't get why anyone would want to hi-jack Bristol Rovs stuff just to have a go.
    We've both moved on....or should have. I'll wager most of those dishing it out don't even go to our games.

    It's not as though he did a terrible job either. I don't think he's a particularly great manager by any means, but he had us in the play-offs up to January. At that point it was obvious we needed new recruits but what we got was an omnishambles. It pretty much fell apart for him then but I certainly don't think he should take the full blame. I'm much happier with Conor in charge, I think Clarke is limited, but I have no issues with him.

    None of that really matters though, even if he had done a terrible job, he doesn't deserve abusing on Twitter.

    The only social media site I ever go on is this one. While I think its generally affable and 'matey' it can get very toxic on here. Social media has to be navigated with the skill of a submarine captain stuck in an Arctic current.

    Wait there is abuse on twitter? well i would never have thought that......... faceplants!! , I mean whats the point he has gone now why bother giving the whole subject on twitter oxygen its wasted now hes not here the detractors(and so called keyboard abusers) got their wish so i think its time to put the toys back in the pram and move on to positive things we won our first two games of the season .........yes aweful display in the first half against Burton BUT............... they had the where with all to pull the game back and win something that in the last 2 seasons really would never have even been an expectation. No club is perfect so maybe its just time to get behind the coach and team that for the first time in 2 seasons look like they are playing for the pride of wearing the shirt.

    A lot of twitter is comments being made by either the uneducated or children fighting for attention. It’s very sadly the way a load of social media has gone.

    Yeah exactly, I think some of these so called 'fans' are an absolute disgrace. But then again, what do you expect from the Twitter obsessed mob.
    They make it absolutely personal against Clarke (and Collins as well), and the subject of football, eventually becomes irrelevant. :eek:

    I do didn’t dislike him despite being absolutely clueless but would never think to publicly carry on about him, surely Conor post Clarke was as bad if not worse.
    Clarke came on the back of someone who played anti football and had a dour demeanour, does Collins get pelters ?

    People who go on twitter are often dickheads, lots of our population are dickheads you say, lots of the human race are dickheads you claim. I'd also add many reform voters, racists, climate deniers, paedophiles, misogynists, Tories, animal abusers and Wednesday fans are dickheads. I know some of these are interchangeable but after that list I think there's only 10 people in the world that are ok. Very sad.
