    These press conferences somehow get more and more painful from Oxley, Doug and Leon. Step it up guys (yes I know it is no doubt a lot harder than it looks with all those people and microphones about).

    So many loaded questions where they ramble on for what seems like an eternity and the only valid response is just to agree. I realise that getting that simple agreement means they can write up the interview as if the players offered those words. I understand that young lads are not always going to be able to elaborate at length about their contributions and career. But talk about putting words in their mouths. Maybe that is the unsatisfying reality of journalism.

    I feel embarrassed for him having to face a barrage of dumb questions all repeated by all 3 of them.

    I find them painful to watch. Especially the Chron questions. I wouldn’t even call most of them questions. They’re mostly assertions, with pretty much every one starting with “Obviously (insert non-question here).”

    I thought that the Real Madrid ones were especially painful. Felt like they didn’t know what to ask/had not prepared for this interview at all.

    Could have asked about what his aims were for the season personally. How did he find the preseason compared to being at Brighton. Something a bit different to the standard ones they always ask
