Went to a good friend of mine(to watch the match) & I have to say, we should have won that. Bad attack & shocking defence. Big up to the 1200

Really? I’ve not watched it but Doug O’Kane reckons Wimbledon were miles better & deserved to get 4 or 5

I agree with the OP rather than Doug, we should have scored with Mcgoldrick and then conceded the softest goal. Second half we was on top before yet more bad defending put the game out of reach. We still went on to hit the post and miss more good chances.

Stats show nearly the same for each team.

On another day could have been easily 3 points for ourselves.

Was Doug at the game. We gifted them 2 goals though Cooper did well with 3 1v1s
Their keeper made a phenomenal save at 0-0 to deny Mcgoldrick.
The Wombles took 2 of their chances we squandered ours. I think a draw would have been fair

Well as one who was there I dont begrudge Wimbledon their win. They took their chances and we didnt take ours and at the ground their goalie was made MoM.

    That’s good to hear.

I’d be concerned if they genuinely deserved to score 4 or 5.

Wimbledon were better than us in every department. They had a more clinical attack and a defence that was far better organised. Our midfield hesitated, theirs came at us with pace and purpose. And they cared, throwing their bodies in front of the ball, while we invited them past. I have no idea what those posting above are talking about.

Actually, Cooper played as well as their keeper. Our motm by some distance and our only player worthy of any credit.

I didn't watch any football yesterday. Just highlights of Man City v Spurs and first half of Arsenal v Leeds before bathing George.

Would have put highlights on when George fell to sleep but we lost.

Imho we are still a decent watch...soooo much better than last year.
I had no problem with losing yesterday, as I thought they were better than us (especially their defending).....We obviously need a proper centre back that can defend and cover up top for McGoldrick....I think our biggest problem will be who leaves and how we replace.
Huddesfield, with their expensive forward line will be another test....again I think it will be a good game.

As I saw it. We also looked limited by being very left footed on the wrong side of the pitch. Need to improve in terms of speed of transition and cutting out the proportion of backwards and sideways passes. Vickers was wasted as he came too deep to get the ball and had his back to goal too much - although I think Wimbledon identified him as a danger and snuffed him out well.

Thought yesterday was a mixture of a couple things, firstly Wimbledon were excellent and worthy winners let's not take anything away from their win but secondly I thought we allowed it, they got into wide positions and delivered crosses far too easy and stood off them alot.
Just looked like one of those games where 6 games in 21 days was showing.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but thought conor might have freshened it up a bit, put DKD through the middle, Cleary out wide and give McGoldrick a rest, that's not me criticising didzy whatsoever just thought we lacked some energy and didn't look like a collective unit.

Opinions eh. Strangely I think there's truth in both. No doubt Wimbledon were far more clinical and Cooper kept the score down to two. On the other side we created good opportunitys just the final ball and when we did get it right we missed. I didn't think with the start we were going up automatically and I certainly dont think this defeat starts our relegation battle. Big week coming up i still feel there might be at least one major in and out.

Biggest issue first half for me, From where we were sat. Many golden opportunities to strike at goal were not taken. Preferring to pass. Opportunities lost.

Sorry but we were pathetic and 4 or 5 wouldn’t have flattered them like Clarke was back, just highlighting how we have no depth to the squad.
At least when DKD plays we might have a chance because he’s not been in one game yet , has his head been turned ?

I don't think your wrong they had four or five decent chances and they took two. But how many did we have didn't we hit bar and post and Mcgoldrick missed a sitter and there were numerous times we got in decent postions and final ball was poor.
The dkd one i don't think there's a lack of effort but I don't think where he's been asked to play necessarily plays to his strengths he's no left winger or centre forward. For me the postion Phillips is playing would be ideal but they both can't do it. Hourihane wants his best player's on the pitch so someone has to compromise.

Not too fussed about that defeat because I thought we'd have lost at Peterborough. Thus far we're a decent watch.

That's important because if you're a decent watch you're entertaining and the games about attacking and trying to score goals.

No one has a devine right to win but if you attack and are entertaining the propensity to win rises.

Get paid Thursday and it's my free weekend. Looking forward to next Saturday.

It was nothing like a Clarke performance. Their Keeper got MOTM as well. Key difference they took 2 of their good chances and we didn’t take any of ours. I also think if we swapped our 2 centre halves for theirs it would have been a different story

The thing what baffles me is there’s loads of Barnsley supporters on social media saying that you can’t expect Hourihane to achieve anything this season with our centre backs yet plenty of them wanted the last manager sacked as he was apparently underachieving when we dropped out of the play offs with these centre backs.

Just get behind them. Bad performances will happen from time to time. We can’t get rid of a load of players under contract.
