Ok that's that, 42 needed from 18, and just 2 wickets left. We were brilliant in finishing top of the division, but we've really choked today, when it really mattered.
I’d love to know how this DL calculation works. It just looked so unfair to me and has proved to be our undoing. You just knew that the weather was going to derail this recent glut of winning matches and I dread to think what it might do to our chances of staying up when the Championship gets under way again
Its what annoys me the most about the game though, its vulnerable to the weather. Then matches get ruined as we don't get a 'normal' result. If it had carried on normally though, I wonder if we'd have got the required 305.
Yes and yes but I still don’t get the revised total needed. Who decides these things? Is it the Premier League VAR team that does it
Maybe not, we'll never know. If we'd have reached the final we'd have struggled without ul Haq though
Yeah and awful batting from us, apart from Imam. It was almost inevitable that we'd struggle, when he was out. But as the others have said, it was also terrible bowling which allowed them to recover, and reach 300+.
I agree to a point but how often have we seen the likes of Root and YJB fail when recalled for a county match after being on England duty? It doesn’t always work but I can’t help thinking how good this side would be with all the “stars” available.
At 24 overs someone brought some gloves on for ul haq which he didn't want. They stood looking at and discussing the DLS total which we were just in front. When 2nd interruption came I think we were 12 up. We looked like strolling from there till it was revised. Wouldn't have mattered if the last 10 overs bowled had been better. Bess was like a rabbit in the headlights and nobody came to his aid from the dressing room with advice.
Ok lads, and Helen too lol, the Cups are gone now. And the priority now is staying up in the Championship isn't it, so fingers crossed!.
