Trump is getting a visit from his pal Farage, as he has flown out to see Trump to champion Lucy Connolly as a free speech martyr, just when parliament is about to start. You could not make this s**t up,

 

Rumours over the net that he's dead.

 

That was yesterday.
He went to a football match later. Didn't look well but didn't look dead either.

 

We’re not that lucky.

 

Oh yes, the great free speech advocate. Unless of course you are a media outlet in Nottingham who have been critical of the Deform council. Double standards me thinks, and straight from the Orange Blimps playbook

 

I lived in hope that he had joined the choir invisible. Terrible, dangerous turd of a man.

 

It would be quite ironic for the big, tough, alpha male Trump to be outlived by the weak, sleepy, suffering with stage 4 cancer Biden...

But he's certainly had a canola in his hand in the last few days...

 

Does "free speech martyr" mean the same as "convicted racist"?

 

Only to a point, since the 80's they've been under various foreign ownerships that largely deviated from what Lotus was about, and lost money when they did, when the Chinese took over in 2017/18 they really only wanted the badge and proceeded to build a large electric SUV in a new plant in China under the Lotus name.

 

She was released a couple of weeks ago after serving 40% of her sentence. What's Trump gonna do for her? Has Farage nothing better to do, like serving his constituents or summat?

 

Its a miracle they are still trading after 45 years of losses and strategic misdirection.

 

Lotus are more than meets the eye, certainly more than just the actual sportscars, the engineering side of the firm is probably the best in the world, and generally made good money. They've sorted out cars for many other manufacturers, Tesla, Volvo, Jaguar, Chevy to name a few, plus vehicles for their parent companies that are not really known here, Much of the current knowledge and use of advanced materials and methods of construction in the modern industry have come from Lotus .

 

Just looked at last headline profit/loss figures.

£594m loss off £538m revenue in 2023. If it's the best in the world, it seems it's a secret.

Those figures make football look sensible and viable.

Just had a look for 2024 and they've increased sales markedly... But lost over a billion US.

That's special.

 

Is he dead yet?

 

Are you looking at Lotus Cars?....Just going off the top, Lotus Engineering which is separate to car manufacturing, but still owned by Geely made nearly three quarters of a billion a couple of years back...if I remember rightly.

 

You'd think it wise to focus on things which drive profit. Close the car division. Pure folly.

 

Big business seems to work differently to accepted norms at our level. I assume they want the prestige, and can offset the losses against another part of their business that's making obscene profits.

 

The lengths companies and individuals will go to avoid tax.
