He's not first 11 starter and if selling him for the amount needed to get Macatee in particularly as the clock ticks down it would make sense , it could be he will go for more but if he goes nowhere then he's gonna be on the bench , he's behind a lot of midfielders at the moment even Bland is probably getting in before him now . Just my opinion mind .
You can see some truth in it with him not included in the Bolton squad on Saturday. He may be injured or he might be on the move to someone else but you could see it happening. I wouldn't imagine Bolton are financially much better off than us and if the new manager doesn't fancy him and you could see him been a marmite type of player best to get him off the wage bill.
My gut reaction is this would be a DKD replacement. If we keep DKD, Phillips and add him then we’ve had an unbelievable transfer window
I think you might be the one a bit over egging it - I'd be pretty pleased/gob smacked if we got £1.5m for a midfielder who can't get into our first team & has 9 months left on his contract.

I thought he was a bit meh to be honest more like an attacking midfielder than a striker he wouldn’t,t replaced did goals that’s for sure.i would prefer somebody with more presence and pace.
There’s an old saying that beggars can’t be choosers and so I’d be delighted if we can get McAtee and retain what we already have.
If there’s any truth in it. Would you sign an experienced, versatile, hardworking forward who scores 1 in 4 at league one level. If he’s available and wants to come, absolutely.
