It is interesting that despite good weather there has been the lowest number of boats crossing the Channel in August since 2019. Also the 3,567 arrivals in August was the lowest since 2021. If you check with the appropriate sources you will find whilst there are fewer boats they are more overcrowded. It's not that difficult to do a bit of fact checking even for those with a jaundiced view of matters. Other think tanks operating out of there include: Tax Payers Alliance - a group campaigning for lower taxes through slashing all public spending including the NHS The Adam Smith Institute - a Thatcher obsessed lobbyist group targeting the privatisation of the entire public sector. Global Warming Policy Foundation - the UKs primary Climate denial group, mostly driving towards massive use of fossil fuels. LGB Alliance - a group focussed on removal of all LGBT rights in the UK and in fact laws to outright ban the practice. The funding of these associated groups is shrouded I mystery but many of their prominent members have been regularly seen in contact with US billionaire right wing lobbyists such as the Koch Brothers as well as various fundamentalist Christian groups from that side of the Atlantic. The model for all these groups is the same. To manipulate cherry picked data to provide the exact kind of charts and tables you shared earlier. At first glance they look official but there is no balance and anything that would take away from their point is excluded. Its a practice called Pseudoscience - you start with a preordained idea and only present evidence that supports your point but make it look official and as damning as possible. Real science starts with a hypothesis but no agenda. It then studies and presents all available data before drawing a conclusion based on everything as to whether the hypothesis was correct or not. Data is also presented in a clear and non deceptive manner and explained thoroughly. Peer review ensures this is the case in published scientific studies. This data cannot be trusted in any way shape or form, because it has been gathered and manipulated with a specific outcome in mind by an agency whose sole agenda is to demonize immigrants.

Even so, he ignores most of What Sky News actually said and instead focuses on a single point where the Met police provided data in error and which Sky News openly acknowledged and amended the article regarding.
