Happy with the window on the whole but really could have done with a striker. The decision to let Watters go out on loan looks strange now. We are relying on a 37 year old to stay fit all season. Incompetent at best, reckless at worst.

 

Bit weird if true, guess we know we'll be getting Watters and Dallas back.

 

It’s common due to FFP.

Basically you get the deal done quickly via a loan - but the transfer fee comes in the season after when the obligation kicks in.

Rather than being an option, they make it an obligation. Essentially, you are not loaning a player, you are actually buying them.

So makes complete sense financially, that we’d be reluctant to do that due to the fees. It would be a normal loan or nothing.

If we’ve kept DKD, Russell, and Phillips, then we have to accept any big outgoing transfer fee ain’t going to happen - and that’s absolutely the right thing to do.

Shame about McAtee you would have thought we could have negotiated a promotion clause with the obligation only kicking in with promotion.

 

How far off is Jalo?

 

Gutted, think McAtee would’ve been great in set up under CH. If we’d sold Russell we’d probably have gone for it.
Happy we’ve kept DKD and Phillips but we’re short up front. To be hoped we don’t pick up an injury or two.

 

We’ve got some options. DKD could play up there, Jalo hopefully coming back at some point, Vickers and Cleary can play up there.

Would have been nice to get another in, but not the end of the world

 

Good on us. Why would we sign someone on loan who might turn out to be useless and then we are forced to buy him when we aren't exactly flush.

 

We don’t have a problem scoring goals. Great window.

 

Not the end of the world but with Jalo's injury record and the fact that McGoldrick is 37 it's a bit of a gamble up front.

 

They ‘could’ play there but if we have to resort to playing 20 year old wingers up front after 1 injury we may have a problem. Obviously could have no injuries so it may not matter, but its risky.

 

I think this is where I’m at too, having let it sink in.

Next month we’ll have Fabio and Robbo back. And it’ll soon be January so another opportunity to strengthen if necessary.

Just got to hope DKD and Didzy keep injury free.
