Posting it here so it can be discussed without the “definitely not right wingers i’m politically neutral” lot dismissing it as whataboutery. A sitting MP working with a company who have the publicly stated goal of helping the rich avoid tax is absolutely diabolical.
Not to mention the house in Clacton. Just after the election; "I've just bought a house in Clacton". Last week after it turns out his foreign wife bought the house to avoid him paying stamp duty; "I probably shouldn't have said that I bought a house in Clacton". It would be interesting to know how many times he's spent the night in his wife's house in Clacton. Edit; replace "his wife" with "his French midtress".
Let's face it everyone's at it,the fact that people who wants to be a MP tells me that's a good reason why they shouldn't be a MP.
His attitude towards his tax affairs appears to be the same as all his other affairs..........my business not yours. All PMs, in the interest of transparency, now publish their tax returns, even Boris and Sunak did. But not Nigel, if he becomes PM then he feels publicising his tax return "would be an imposition too far". Strange that. Sky News giving Farage a strangely easy time of it.
I love paying tax. The more I pay the happier I am. Keep it coming. I guess we all feel the same on here. Avoidance .... meh. Evasion ... meh.
This really emphasises how much the anti establishment lot are winning. MPs In the last 20 years caught out on taxes: Rayner Farage Zahawi Bridgen Missing anyone? Out of what, maybe 1000 in that time? Seems harsh
This is the problem. We're happy to ignore it because "they're all doing it". They're all doing it because nobody is holding them accountable. That's why we've had successive governments which have had had complete contempt for the common man.
He's a man of the people. Drinks beer on pubs, wears wellies and not at all a wolf masquerading as a sheep.
Although various allegations were made by the media, I don't think anything, aside from missing a register of interest deadline in 2018, has ever been pinned on him. So including him would be tenuous at best
Unfortunately Johnsons tenure as pm made corruption and dodgy dealing the acceptable westminster norm. whether we agree with Raynor or not she was found guilty of breaking the ministerial code so she had to go' but when you have tories from the previous government calling her out its hilarious' the hypocrisy is incredible and just shows how far out of touch with the public they are.
Farage, when he's not in America, earns £2,000 per hour on GB News, money for owd rope as my old grandad used to say.
Sunak? Something about his swimming pool I can't remember the details, but it was brushed under the carpet at the time.
Think it wasn’t his German wife who bought it , it was his French girlfriend who he shares a flat with in Brussels
That makes more sense, I would imagine there would be rules about stamp duty when a spouse buys a property which wouldn't apply to somebody who could be a complete stranger.
