Probably a coincidence that she was involved in a group accused of misappropriating EU tax payers money to support UKIP.
See this is the first of the week’s BBS echo chamber circle-jerks, full of anti-Farage smears that as far as I’m aware went nowhere the first time around because there was no evidence of any wrongdoing. Unlike the ‘it’s different when we do it’ brigade on here I’m happy to hold all politicians to the same standards so if it emerges that Farage or anyone else has acted illegally I’ll have no problem with them facing the same fire. I appreciate this is a desperate effort to distract yourselves and others from the fact that labour’s answer to Vikki Pollard just got caught red-handed doing the very thing she’s spent all her dreadful career accusing others of doing (much as you lot do on here), and sympathise, so if it helps you cope with such an enormous betrayal I say go for it. Here’s a shot of Morgan McSweeney coaching Rayner on which decent honest people she might try to throw under the bus to save herself, and where in the carefully stage-managed interview with Sky’s labour liaison officer she’ll need to force out a tear or two (‘if you’re struggling for motivation Ange, just think about the fact your political career is essentially over’). I’ll leave you all to it, some of us have work to do.
I’m happy to hold all politicians to the same standards so if it emerges that Farage or anyone else has acted illegally I’ll have no problem with them facing the same fire Angela Raynor hasn't committed a crime or an illegal act. If your standard/threshold is higher than that and say more ethical than criminal presumably we can expect that you find that Mr Farage to have failed as well? e.g. failing to disclose £450K worth of gifts
Oddly, the story seems to have died a death. I can't for the life of me work out why the torygraph, mail, sun and express ran stories repeatedly for what seems like two weeks on Raynor, but hardly a footnote on Farage. Must be some reason, I wonder what it could be.
Sneering at a successful woman for daring to speak with a regional accent, nice. I'd have thought you'd be happy to stick the boot into Farage - he seems a bit left wing for you.
I’m about as surprised that his contribution to this thread was that, as I am that MDG has thus far not contributed to this thread at all. I’ll never get over the shock.
I can't. If you've someone on ignore, a greyed out "show ignored content" shows at the bottom of a page when one has posted. You click on that and the posts appear. I've only 5 or 6 on ignore, so it's not too difficult to guess who they are depending on the thread topic.
You make a decent point about these people being held to the same standards then completely ruin your argument by making a cheap joke about Vicki Pollard. Totally ridiculous mate. You ruined your own point.
He doesn't really... as they were not held to the same standard. Rayner was judged under the Ministerial Code which only applies to members of government, and Farage was judged under the Code of Conduct for MPs, a significantly lower bar. She failed to meet the highest possible standards of proper conduct. Whether Farage's tax affairs would have met that we'll never know... Even in future as I believe the existence of the ethics committee is a government choice and not bound by law, so he will almost certainly disband it if he ever does get into power.
To reduce his personal Tax payments, he redirects the £2,000 per hour from his GB News media appearances into a business structure, which means he pays 25% corporation Tax instead of 40% income tax. according to the Guardian. And then this grifter will come on all the far-right media outlets, saying to his flock of well idiots," I'm the voice of the ordinary people".
