BARNSLEY will shell out a fee believed to be around £120,000 and give away Marc Richards to sign Leon Constantine from Port Vale. The 28-year-old was due at Oakwell today for a medical and to discuss personal terms. Barnsley have not revealed the amount of cash changing hands in the player swap but a source close to Vale put a figure on it. Constantine was the subject of a Barnsley bid in August on transfer deadline day. Vale refused to sell a player who has been a prolific scorer since joining them from Torquay in November 2005. He cost Vale £20,000 then and has netted 30 goals in 67 games since. Hackney-born Constantine has netted 18 times this season. Barnsley gave debuts to new signings Adam Eckersley and Dwayne Mattis in Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Preston at Oakwell.
http://www.mysporttoday.co.uk/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=4867&ArticleID=1972768&sitecode=shef&sportcode=barnsley

Thn article must be wrong. It said we tried to sign him in August but we weren't trying to get players in then. Allegedly.
