Agreed. If on average it's been £23 a game, make every f.cking game £23 and leave it. Done. Dusted. Fowk know what they're paying.

The category system doesn't work unless you decide that you won't release prices until the gam comes round. This weeks game shows the folly of variable pricing.

Re: I think it's fair to say

    Agreed.

Understand the logic in the away fans pricing, don't agree with it but understand it. But all I'd do is mail out 25k 1912 cards to everyone who's ever been near Oakwell and say 'show that at turnstile and get a 5er off'. Then set prices at 30 quid if you want, but make it almost impossible for home fans to pay more than £25 for Cat A.

Re: I think it's fair to say

The fact it seemed a stated policy to 'punish' away fans for their clubs pricing made me uncomfy from the start - not all clubs are Leeds Utd thank ****.

Then the way we set about it was amateurish.

Fully agree. But I've told you that kind of thing would never happen at Oakwell as it stands. They are petrified of 1912 cards being handed out to peopel though. Hence photo ID etc.

Re: I think it's fair to say

I'm finding it more and more difficult to defend and promote BFC (off field) antics to other people. I deal with other football clubs, some at a lower level in the pyramid to BFC and the way they all conduct themselves in terms of communicating with their fans, how they get themselves out into their local communities and the professionalism in the way they deal in a business to business environment makes us look daft.

We come across in exactly the way we shouldn't - insular, small time, all about policy, nothing about being commercial.

Rapidly losing my enthusiasm with it all. I feel sorry for Keith Hill having to manage at BFC.

Worst job in the FL. Ideas not encouraged, fans are the enemy. Falling revenues, only two ways to defend it is bang the cost up and flog players on the cheap.

    Business man.

Re: I think it's fair to say

In my humble uneducated opinion it comes from the top down. Whether Mr Rowing is carrying out to the letter whatever intructions he has been given I don't know, but we have an organisation there with an £11million turnover, and nobody in my opinion driving the business forwards. Turnover seems to happen by accident and we seem to be happy to assume that the paying customers will turn up come what may.

Success on the pitch notwithstanding, leisure is a competitive market, the numbskulls like me who will go along whatever happens are diminishing. Individual and family budgets are being squeezed by the state of the economy and demands from other sectors. People have a lot more options for their leisure time than they used to - BFC need to recognise that and create a long term plan to re-connect with the existing fanbase and local community,a nd make themselves an attractive proposition for people to engage with.

I genuinely don't think that just winning matches will get us back to 15/16,000 home crowds anymore as we had late 90's/early 2000's, it will take more imagination than that.

    Agreed x 327.

Breaking even is a great achievement. Now let's see abart generating a bit more income for us to still break even with in future.

Re: I think it's fair to say

I think winning games will have a positive effect, perhaps not to that level but you are right. There is a general reluctance to try anything to engage with support we have lost and even the support we still have. There are no long term plans as afr as I can tell because of the uncertainity hanging over the club.

Don is doing his job, no more no less. His job, as I see it is to ensure we run solvently. Fair do's. But we need to look forwards because as it stands, people are losing interest faster than Murdoch can drop a Tory in the *****.

sorry but (IMHO) thats still too much for a dead game for a team thats in a **** run of form on a day when the weather forecast is for more **** weather, thats if they want to tempt the waverers and floating voters that is
