...if you decide at the last minute to go and watch The Reds play the likes of Shrewsbury and Gillingham this month. Have a serious word with yourselves Barnsley FC.

Not exactly fresh news, but yes it's a scandal. Unfortunately people who might decide to turn up on the day are in a minority, and so the club don't have to pander to their needs. Of course if it was a flat rate of £20 season ticket holders would still make a substantial saving but potential pay on the dayers might be more tempted to turn up, but that would be too sensible.

You mean the 2nd round of the Capital One Cup that usually gets reduced to £10 for everyone?

It's overpriced I agree. It's been a bit more on the day for years (as it should be) so they have more of an idea in advance how much food they need, stewards/police they need, programmes to order etc. But it should be more like Twenty Is Plenty in advance and say 22-23 on the day.

It's f'cking stupid. Other week, me and the mrs were thinking of going vs Burton but she'd had toothache all week. Woke up on Saturday morning and she was feeling fine so went on to buy tickets online in the morning and they'd gone up, decided not to bother as I refuse to pay £26 to watch League One football.

With regard to know how much food, I'm hearing east stand out of hot food way before half time every game this season. Shambles if so.

I'm in a similar situation. My mate doesn't know until Saturday morning whether he'll be able to go, so we haven't been able to book in advance. We think £23 is far too much, so when we found out it's going to be another £2 on top of that, we've decided not to go out of principle. Two more lost BFC.

If i was prepared to pay £23, I very much doubt a rise of 2 quid would stop me going

Let's face it, if you'd got into the Burton and Bradford games for free you would still have felt ripped off.

"Out of principle". Of course I could find another £2. I could even raid the grandkids piggy bank. I just don't think there's any need for it. What are they playing at putting off last minute punters. It doesn't exactly make you feel 'part of it'.

But you'd be part of it at wembley for the play off final at £60 a go.

yes football in general is way too expensive. its not barnsleys fault though. no need for threads like this every week.

No need for putting the online price up on the day.

Why would I know what other clubs do? However, if you really want to go down that route then if I supported Bradford I could have bought a season ticket for only £150. The 'world didn't work like that' last season, or the season before, or the season before that etc. Do you always take sh*t so easily without ever questioning anything?
