    Seriously,
Does anyone think that hes better than Butty?
Would anyone swap him for Butty?
I know who i`d rather see in a red shirt.
Batesy will not sell his players on the cheap will he.

For me Jacobs the better player.
Some on here have said the west Yorkshire born midfielder maybe worth 1 million pound. I think that may have been the best joke on here for many a year. The Barnsley player must be worth at least 2 million.

    Completely different situation

Howson has been a regular for Leeds since 2007, and has performed consistently well. Jacob is really in his first full season (which has been cut short unfortunatly), and is in the best form of his career. He's not proven that he can do it consistently every season. I wouldn't say he's worth more than Howson, however by todays standards i'd have thought Leeds would have got more for Howson.

As for who is the better player, again you can only base it on form as Butterfield hasn't been a regular too long. And unless you're watching both week in week out, you can't possibly tell. Our fans will say Butty's better, Leeds will say Howson's better.

Hes a year older than Jacob and hes been playing in league ONE.

It means everone else rates Jacob apart from SOME reds fans. M BROWN took him out for a reason. Becuase hes a very good player. Lee bowyet tried to do same gor the same reason.

As its a Leeds player there still remains this idea you pay the club more. Had he been at Barnsley, half a million, Blunts a million for example

Where did I say he isn't a good player?

He's an exceptional talent, I just think he lacks the experience of Howson, whether or not he has played the majority of his career in League 1; You've to bear in mind his last 75 games have been for a top half championship club. I just feel clubs are less likely to offer more for Butterfield than Howson, as Butterfield hasn't had a full season as a pro, he's more of a gamble. Who's to say that he'll be a revelation in the premier league if he leaves this season. We've more chance of making more money from him if he signs a new contrat, recovers from injury, breaks into the England set-up and has another brilliant season next year.

I would have expected us to get about the same for Jacob. Different type of player, but I would peg them at about the same level.

Howson was Leeds longest serving player with five years there. He's a promotion under his belt with them and is the youngest ever captain of the club. He's also playing for a team with big crowds and very high expectations.

Buttercup on the otherhand has had five good months for us August to December and is playing for a team where staying up is an achievement. Of course Howson is worth more.

Butterfield also had a good couple of months back end of last season as well but that was under Robins so obviously that doesn`t count.
