‘Couple of quick points - last week I paid 34 Euros to watch Messi & Barcelona play in the Champions League and today's ticket was £30.’

‘£30 is disgrace, its one thing paying £32 pound at the Boleyn to see ex-Premier League club, but Barnsley I ask you!
Apparently 17 games are category one this season up there and the locals are not happy.
Obviously their board haven’t got the b*lls to say they have put the prices up. 8900 yesterday, the law of diminishing return will become obvious to them at some point.’

‘I'm going. I was going to be bringing 2 mates (Norwich fans) as neutrals, but they've (quite understandably) baulked at the £30 entrance fee. Well done Barnsley, cost yourselves 2 more tickets sold because of the ridiculously high ticket price…’

    ‘£30?!?!
Bloody hell, at least **** Turpin wore a mask!’

‘£30 to sit in that empty seated dump of a ground?’

‘We were intending to go but £30 each is a rip off and Barnsley can stuff it where the sun don't shine, so I suppose it's DIY for me.’

‘Same. Barnsley is one of the games I would normally do every season, but £30 is a disgrace. It doesn't affect me but there are no concession prices available for POTD either. I'd love to hear them try and justify that.’

‘Now going, when I said I wouldn't pay £30....I feel like giving the geezer at the turnstile some attitude as the £30 slips from my grasp...But I know its not his fault..Its the boneheads in the Barnsley Board Room...Killing football they are to line their own pockets....Bankers....!’

    ‘I'm going to buy a ticket on Monday, can't believe it's £30!!!’

‘someday a football club will go too far and take the **** out of the fans too much. maybe the shameful profiteering of next Tuesday night may mean that is the day?’

‘i am disgusted at the price tag’

‘I can't believe the pricing of away games, £25 for a team like Forest but £30 for a team like Barnsley.’

‘I know - the reason I have not bought a ticket so far is because of the price. My ticket for The Emirates in the first season in the Prem was only £33. No comparison is there!’

‘Going to Forest, but I am not forking out £30 to go to Barnsley three days later. Don't these clubs know there is a recession on.
I am refusing to pay more than £26 for my away day tickets...I suggest a few more do the same and tell the Barnsley's of this world that they are out of order. Hit them in the sky-rocket and they might have a change of policy.
City should charge them exactly the same and lets see how many of their lot would turn up at the KC. Very few.’

‘I'm almost certain it will be pay on the gate, it's a big away end and there's a lot that won't go on principal, due to the pricing.’

‘Regularly go to Oakwell - went last year.
I'm not prepared however to be ripped off by Barnsley this year - £30 for an NPC game is a step too far.
I've emailed the Club and told them their ticket pricing is disgraceful in these difficluit economic times - needless to say got no answer.’

‘I do agree I mean for a ticket for Brighton and Forrest away it's like £24-£25 - Adult £12 under 18 and Barnsley £30 adult and £18 under 18’

‘How can Barnsley justify charging £30 a pop for a ticket, well just when I was considering penciling in this one to go to, forget it !!!’

‘I've been to all the recent trips to Barnsley, but this year they can stick it, £30 is taking the P
It will be interesting to see how the numbers compare with how many went to Donny’

‘How about supporters emailing marketing@barnsleyfc.co.uk and show your dismay.
Time for them to reduce the price if fook all go.
They'll say its a Cat A game (there are 16 of them incl Bristol C FFS) thus the price whilst their Cat B (four matches) and Cat C matches (just three - Watford Palace & Peterboro) are just £23 and £16 respectively.
Of all places Barnsley should know people are not flush with money at the moment.
Leicester may have been their biggest attendance to date (10,862) but their average is 10,239.’

    ‘£30 fook off’

‘its called ""profiteering"" and it may get to be the morm at other clubs if the tigers stay at the top of the league. and coming so close after the forest away game and with it being a tuesday night, barnsley may just regret that adult price.’

‘if barnsley were to drop there away price to say £20 then i think the whole away end would be full. surely its better to have many paying less than a few paying more ? after all, its not as though barnsleys wage bill will be that high either. or is the extra to pay for last seasons damage to that local club ? Hhmmmm’

‘I emailed 'em too - told them they ought to be ashamed! £30!’

‘It would appear that West Ham's 4100 ticket allocation for the Circle was priced at £24 for an adult. Strangely, Barnsley's equivalent for tomorrow is £30!!!!!!!
Can't Hull City (the club that is) stick up for its fans for a change after the previous profiteering of Leeds, Ipswich and Donny?
The half Scotsman/half Yorkshireman inside me is sorely tempted to protest with my feet.
    Nothing short of a scandal!!!!!!!’

‘We got charged £30 for Barnsley too. I went their last season and only paid £22 so £8 jump is alot. Some fans even boycotted Barnsley this season because of the increase.’

‘It's a simple answer; do the same to their fans when all 200 of them roll up at the KC.’

‘Barnsley are not just screwing us, they're screwing themselves, their attendances have fallen off a cliff. Their highest attendance this season was just over 10,000, their average attendance is now only just above that of Donny and Peterborough.
They're a **** team, in a **** ground and they're going nowhere, I'm happy to pay £30 just so I can go along and laugh at them.’

‘It really ****s me off, because I play football on Sat and Sun so can't get to any weekend games, plus being in Sheffield, tues night games against someone like Barnsley are perfect, but 30 quid is outrageous, I remember paying less than 30 quid to watch us at White Hart Lane.....I really want to vote with my feet, but as I don't get to watch City as often as I'd like find myself destined to go.…’

‘This would usually be a definite away game for me been so close but I think it's time to take a stand against ridiculous prices and I'm not going and have informed barnsley football club why
It saddens me to miss watching my team but unless fans vote with their feet nothing will change.’

Reading all that is pretty depressing to say the least. Why can't the Board see that it's economic suicide and not just for away fans, for our own fans too.

I'm still choking on fans of teams like Bristol City calling our ground a dump when they play in the sh*t hole they do, we've built three quarters of our ground since 1993. Looking at Ashton Gate three of their stands were built in 1958, 1970 & 1928 and had seats put on them in the 90's and the only recent stand to have been built was in 1994! I suppose our West Stand gives them a bad impression...

All this is all well and good but how many of these clubs are paying players more than they can afford and have a sugar daddy bank rolling em

Bristol City - David James for one.

Leicester City moaning whilst being bankrolled by locust eating Thai ladyboys and shelling out millions in transfer fees.
