I’ve been in Spain since October and was planning on staying maybe until March. Until today I could watch content on my Sky Sports account. Not any more. Just tried to login to watch football and computer says no.

I then went to my Amazon Prime account. Same result. Not available in my region. What I am afraid of now is that I might get the same result tomorrow when I try to watch the match. Streaming service might not be not available.

Any of our other European exiles come across this today? If BREXIT has prevented me from watching iFollow content I shall have to go home!!

I read that a lot of streaming services change as of today. You need a VPN.

I was abroad in December and couldn't get Sky to work without a VPN. Worked straight away afterwards

I believe iFollow is different, in that they actively market to foreign fans as it being the only way to watch a game.

I’m not expecting sympathy, just reporting the situation.

I don’t have Residencia here so I am registered on iFollow as a UK customer and it has worked perfectly so far during my stay. I fear that may not be the case after today.

I’d have thought it quite simple to tell iFollow you’re abroad.
After all that’s what some U.K. residents have done in the past to view the games ‘from abroad’, when they’ve not been available in the U.K. though they’ve needed a vpn to mask their ip (location) but presumably you won’t need that as your ip will show you’re abroad.

This is only temporary though. I wasn’t planning on staying this long so I don’t want to switch from UK customer to overseas, unless they just say “ok, done - no problem “ then switch me back again when I go home. Same goes for VPN - I’d rather avoid that if I can.

I’ll email them and ask what to do. Maybe not get an answer back before tomorrow though

It’s just one of many things that just get more difficult still struggling to find a single thing that is unarguably better for leaving

a lot of things like this phone roaming etc could have been written into the exit agreement so they continued but our government seemed determined to destroy all the things that had European connections

we will still be able to find ways round a lot of things though not always strictly legally but lots of things will now require more effort and expense.

    what’s actually better?

Create a separate abroad account using a different email address. That’s what I use when abroad then it’s simple. Unless you are a ST holder and getting free codes.
In that case if it doesn’t work a VPN is your only realistic option

I AM a season ticket holder with free codes for home matches only. It’s been working fine, and I’m paying 8€ for every away game.

There’s nothing obviously better so far and the “swallow” communities here are wondering what to do now that the long standing 90 days in 180 in the country rule is going to be enforced. So many retired people have been used to flying south for the whole winter and now they are being told they can’t do it.

Mobile roaming is another issue. So far Vodafone have said nothing but I’m wait for that tap to be turned off. I’m ok here in my property with WiFi via a local cable company but out and about might change.

A lot of people have some hard decisions to make in the near future. Nobody really knows what is going to happen, but none of it looks good at the moment.

Agreed.... it's a tragedy when you fund Rupert Murdoch and then can't watch it.

Vodafone...like the other four main suppliers said roaming charges would stay as they are several weeks ago.
